The Shanty came highly recommended to us; so we decided last night to finally try it. It was a one and done. We were greeted after several minutes; my lemonade tasted disgusting. I asked for a second one thinking maybe the syrup was running low... it wasn't apparently, just evidently not good tasting lemonade. Not the end of the world. Ordered an app which came out rather quickly and tasted fine. Ordered dinner (I ordered a chicken sandwich, requested ranch on the side, no aioli as I don't like it). Sandwich came out and I asked for a new one since it was smothered in the aioli I had specifically asked to not have. If it was a little, I would have just wiped it off. I learned exactly why you don't send food back. Their idea of fixing my sandwich was just wiping off the aioli, throwing a piece of cheese on and sending it back out. I was disgusted that THIS is how they handle customer service, and I couldn't help but laugh because these are the things you read about. Our waitress, who I do not fault whatsoever, apologized and said it wasn't an acceptable response to my request. She had the "lazy kitchen" make a new sandwich, which was mediocre - I barely even ate it and left it behind. My sandwich was removed from the bill, but the fact they thought "customer service" was treating their customers as if they were stupid and wouldn't have noticed the aioli still clearly on the sandwich was unacceptable. If I was being rude or belligerent, I would have deserved such treatment, but I wasn't. I would not return, I would not recommend. I would also expect far better service from an establishment. So, moral of the story: Don't return your food to their kitchen, their kitchen staff does not care about customers. I also regret not taking a photo of the before/after of...

This place was great! Nice place with great food, decent prices, and good sized portions. I put it in the $30-$50 range since we had drinks and apps as well as entrees - could easily be $20-$30 depending what you get.

Food: We got the tator tot poutine which everyone loved. A friend got the fried mushroom appetizer which they enjoyed (not a mushroom fan here) and we got sweet potato fries for the table which were good. I got the chicken parm which was excellent, really thick chicken breast that was cooked perfectly. Also had a rum runner cocktail which was delightful.

Atmosphere: typical sports bar, a lot of high tops along the edges that had a shared bench along the wall. Was comfortable, though the spot i sat in had a screen at my back which was a little awkward. This place is not wheelchair accessible from what I can tell, you can get in, but there would be very limited if any seating options and forget about the bathrooms. Tiny singles, and if you sit for too long in the ladies the motion activated light turns off and you can't reach it. 😂

Service: Our waitress was great, real sweetheart who made sure our drinks were full and would check in regularly.

Overall 4/5 stars mainly for...

Came here opening weekend and was underwhelmed by the fishy tasting fish tacos ordered and eaten there and the missed fries on our take out order. I was impressed that the management reached out immediately and said she would leave a gift certificate at the bar for me to try it again. Figured they should have worked the kinks out by now so gave it another try tonight. First there was no gift certificate left for me but the woman must be used to this so gave us $25 card. So glad she did because I would have been VERY upset if I paid for this mess again. The Cobb salad was sub-par at best. That weird bagged lettuce, browned avocado, under cooked weird bacon and, guess I should have read the description but has anyone ever had a Cobb Salad that DIDN'T have chicken on it??? So ate a few bites and in the trash it went. My spouse got the fish and chips. A large tasteless hunk of frozen white fish.....not sure what it was, greasy, soggy fries and below average cole slaw. Epic fail for a Friday evening (it was only 5PM so they weren't at the height of a busy weekend night). I guess if you drink enough even Wendy's tastes great but The Shanty sober? Not so much. We won't give it...

Seems to be a very popular place. I went here to catch the end of the British Open. Very nice meal and a good place to catch the tournament because they have TV's everywhere. They have some really intriguing things on the menu, and everyone seemed to enjoy the food and certainly the portions. I ordered the special which was a taco pizza, and felt that I waited an inordinate amount of time for it. The gentleman next to me at the bar came in after I did and ordered after I did and had completed his meal before I was served. I was there to watch Scottie Scheffler win the British Open so I didn't care so much, but it did take an awful long time. I did return a 2nd time, a few days later, and ended up leaving because I waited almost an hour to 2 appetizers, which never came out. Disappointing. Good location and it seemed a nice comfortable place to be.

Ate here twice in the last month or so. Staff was very friendly and the food is AMAZING. Always comes out fast and hot. Tried several different things here and nothing disappoints. Great selection of bar food to share with friends over an iced cold beer. Pictures are: shepherds pie, poutine tater tots, edamame potstickers and buffalo chicken egg rolls. Highly recommend for delicious comfort food with fun atmosphere.
