Antigua Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Rome

Never again! My Family and Friends have eaten @ this location alot. My wife and I went to eat around 2-2:30 on Sunday so the crowds would be gone and they would be slower. We ordered our normal Texas cheese dip for an appetizer & Steak and Chicken Fajitas for 2 no peppers and very very well done onions. Well our appetizer took forever to get there but it was good. The Fajitas showed up and the onions were barely cooked, nowhere close to what we asked for, so another waitress came up and asked if they was done enough or if we wanted them to cook them some more. I told her no because I didn't want the steak and chicken to be over done, then I addressed the fact that there was not as much steak and chicken as we normally get for a double order only about what I get on a single order sometimes and thier prices had gone up several dollars since our last visit(I know food cost has gone up). The (female) waitress agreed that it wasn't much meat and said she would get them to cook more(never said anything about a charge). They gave us another plate with more meat and very under cooked onions so we just ate the meat and our sides that came with it.When we got our bill they had charged us and additional $3.95 because they said we asked for the extra meat that should have been on the original order. When we got the owner involved he told us that it only came with 16 oz of meat. I said we had no where close to 1lb of meat, not even from both orders he then told me 16 oz wasn't a pound and when I corrected him he said "you don't pay and don't come back". I was not disputing the whole bill nor trying to get a free meal just the $3.95. We paid the whole bill and we will never return and we will make sure everyone we know,knows about how an owner of this business treated us. When I tell you this place has an atmosphere of the upmost uncomfortable and nasty dining experience ? The food was extremely subpar and TASTELESS! The sour cream was indeed EXPIRED and tasted rotten, the shrimp was over cooked. I could go on the taste was horrible but the icing on the cake was 1) HUGE roach on its back kicking its legs…another customer tried to point it out and one of the female employees tried to play it off like she didn’t see this. 2) Fly mania! Flies, flies, flies EVERYWHERE! You can’t eat or enjoy a dine in experience without fighting for your food by way of shooing them away or having flies landing on you. I can only imagine how many flies are in the kitchen and landing on open food etc and everyone knows they lay eggs when they land on stuff. Yuck. I stop regularly for food on the go. I called and asked what was in the veggie quesadillas and they initially read off the menu (it wasn't obvious on the online menu). After hearing my choices, they basically tweaked it to what I wanted...no extra charge...and it was DELICIOUS!!! They have they're own ANTIGUA quesadillas and (DROOLING) they're absolutely delicious! They have their own way of toasting the quesadillas that make it crunchy on the outside and gooey satisfaction inside, just like you ordered...deliciousness! Kinda like asking mom to cut off the crust of your sandwich, but on a higher level. They make it JUST how you like it. Truly authentic food and if they have it as an ingredient, you can make it happen. Absolutely love it and I will definitely...
