So I ordered off Instacart for the first time. I picked up my food and took it home. We like Dennys burgers and I just wanted to feed my family. I ordered two extra ranch dressings that I paid $1.19 plus tax. Our burgers literally had half an order of fries each. I called down there just to let them know who ever is staging orders needs to be more careful. She hung up! They would not answer when I called back. I was not looking for compensation. I was looking to protect the next customer from bad service. I drove back to the restaurant. I asked the waitress if she had hung up on me. She said no sarcastically, and the manager would be out. She took her time and finally came out after I called the restaurant a third time. I attempted to explain the problem and she overtalked me. I explained as a manager you need to listen to the problem and solve it. I explained I use to be a manager. She proceeded to tell me " Your not a manager anymore are you?" I responded "I am an engineer now." I could tell she wanted to keep escalating the situation so I left due to her trying to overtalk me. Review the cameras please. So this is a warning to the GM of that restaurant. You are sending incomplete orders out. Also, you have a manager that will not listen to the customer you will lose business and trust of the public. I will let every South Beloiter know in my circle of what took place. I grew up in the city and hate to see bad business be conducted here. I posted a picture of the half filled ranch I did receive on google reviews if you would like to review. Customer service is easy if you listen and have patience. This manager did not have patience, she hung up. She did not listen after I drove back to the store. This is completely unacceptable. I don't need my rear kissed. I didn't even want what I paid for. I wanted to let them know there is a problem in the orders for pickup. Could someone please call me? $37.87
Update: Manager called me and apologized. He explained they use a scale to measure fries. I explained the scale was probably not zero'd out correctly. I was told I would receive a refund and he would review cameras. Refund...

I had a long night driving and I decided to stop at Denny’s instead of McDonald’s for breakfast. However, when I entered the restaurant I noticed that the Server eagerly greeted three older women, sat them, and proceeded to come back to the front entrance. The Server (older lady with grey hair) didn’t greet me or acknowledge my presence.
The Host finally came to the front and sat me. She had a lovely personality. I sat for 20 minutes waiting for someone to offer me some water or coffee but, no one stopped by my table to check on me. I noticed everyone else in the restaurant had drinks and food except for me. Even people that came in after me had received their drinks.
I hate to think that it was the color of my skin that would cause the staff to ignore me but, I did notice that I was the only Black person in the restaurant. I voiced my concerns to the lovely Host and she stated that Manager was at the bank.
I’m so disappointed at this location because I love eating at Denny’s. I use to be a server for 10 years before becoming a truck driver. I understand how much hard work it takes to run a restaurant.
It’s unfortunate that I’m experiencing discrimination in 2024. I refuse to give my hard earned money to an establishment that doesn’t greet ALL customers. I will never come back to this...
Read moreMy wife, daughter and I went to breakfast at Denny’s in Rockton on a recent Saturday morning.
My wife order the Greek omelet special with hash browns and an English muffin. A Greek omelet was not preference, but my wife enjoyed it. My daughter selected the build your own Grand Slam breakfast. She finished the eggs and sausage, but did not come close to eating all the hash browns and pancakes. I had the Country Fried Steak which was a generous piece of chopped steaks nicely fried and served under a good dollop of country gravy. I am a saucy kind of guy so a ordered and received extra gravy at not additional charge. The hash browns were nicely browned and tender; not over cooked to crispy like a lot of breakfast places.
While the food and service were good, there were two problems. The silverware was pretty grungy looking. We determine that they were water stained, but probably clean, and since we did nit get sick they were properly sanitized.
The second problem was the bathroom which was pretty disgusting. There were paper towels strewn all over the floor. The sink top was badly faded and water stained and needed to be mopped down
Good food and service, but the rest of the visit was below expectations. So, the Denny’s in South Beloit gets a 4 for food and service, but a 1 for cleanliness...
