This is consistently the worst Sonic I have ever frequented, which stinks since I live in Rose Hill and generally liked Sonic since I was a kid.. This location is single handedly responsible for me not eating the chili cheese coney anymore. I've received inedible ones on numerous occasions. During the special $1.99 coney all day deal the last time, I got them for my entire family for an easy meal, and no one ended up eating more than 1/4 before we gave up. The hot dogs obviously made long time ago, rubbery and burnt. The Chili tastes off, some had almost no cheese, others have very little chili or cheese. I'd been getting the coney for literally decades and did not have problems with any Sonic living in Wichita, Hutchinson, or Hays over the years.
I recently tried the new pulled pork sandwich when it had just came out, and it was very good, I thought I had found something I really liked at Sonic once again. But the next 2 times I went and ordered the sandwich, it had serious problems and was basically as bad as the Coney's I often got served. The pork had crunchy bits all over each time. The bun was stale and I had to throw a portion of it away one of those times as well.
Last night, my wife wanted a shake, so I order myself a double cheeseburger, no mustard and ketchup. I was just going to put condiments on at home as I prefer. Well, I got home and opened it, and it was slathered in particularly mustard, all over the wrapper too from excess. I could barely taste the burger over it, even after scraping what I could off and it entirely ruined it for me. Usually, I can at least rely on a cheeseburger. Apparently not here. I have been served obviously old and refried tator tots and onion rings many times.
I have numerous more examples, but these three including last night came to mind. The pictures I took don't even do how gross it often is justice. And I took them on different occasions.. I didn't even bother to take a picture of the slathered cheeseburger last night, it's par for the course.
Basically, if you are getting drinks, besides a potentially long wait it will probably be fine. If you order food, it's like flipping a coin whether the food will be horrible or not.
Go to Louis Cafe, go to Andover, go to Derby, don't go to Rose Hill Sonic. I honestly have never been served so much trash in one location and kind of feel insulted. I would never serve others the trash I have repeatedly been served, and I can say that having worked multiple food service jobs (as a cook) in the...
Read moreA little before 5:00 on a Saturday I went to the Sonic in Rose Hill, KS. Only three cars were there so they weren't busy. I pulled in and hit the red button to place my order. While I was waiting a truck pulled in next to me and after waiting 3-4 minutes they left. I continued waiting, another couple of minutes, and was finally asked for my order. The young man did apologize for the wait. I ordered a medium order of onion rings and a blended root beer float. I had to clarify the "blended" part a couple of times but he finally caught on and even noted it on the order board - "Root Beer Float Blended." The wait wasn't too bad before my food arrived. The girl who brought it did not smile or say much and was very unfriendly! I took the sack with the onion rings but when I took the cup from her it was over-flowing, very sticky and the lid was falling off. I looked in the cup, it was a regular root beer float so I explained to her I had ordered it blended and she practically did an eye roll before taking it back. She came back with my drink which now was 95% root beer and a tiny bit of vanilla ice cream taste. When I bit into my onion rings they were barely crisp on the outside and very soggy and doughy on the inside. I had to ask the young lady for catsup and salt and once again got attitude - so unfriendly and rude! I've loved Sonic for most of my life and their onion rings got me through one of my pregnancies! This was one of the worst visits to a Sonic I've ever had and will NOT got back to...
Read moreService was slow compared to other Sonics we go to (only 2 drinks ordered, no food), they got 1 wrong. The Route 44 Cherry Limeade came out no problems. The other, a Route 44 that was to be just carbonated water & lime only, no sweetener (syrup). Fizzy lime juice isn't for everyone but it's darn simple to make. I did ask for extra lime, in a cup that big even lime juice gets lost. The order was correct on the screen (the person taking the order did triple the "extra lime" order so it ended up being a bit pricey but I thought well at least it'll be strong). Nope. Came out as tap water with a couple lime wedges. They took it back. This time - CO2 water with 2 lime wedges so thin they were decorative at best. I asked them to go get me the "extra, extra, extra lime" I paid for (I was pleasant), they came back out with a cup that I thought would have a good amount of lime in it judging from the size. Nope. Three lime wedges in the bottom about 1/4" thick at the thickest point. So, after paying extra, extra, extra, (& fewer ingredients) then having to talk them through several trips back to the kitchen, then having a DYI experience that probably put more on my fingers than in the cup, I just had a cup of carbonated water for the time, effort & expense. The 1 star is for the carhop, possibly incompetent but super nice, over &...
