Chi's Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in Roseburg

Well, for me, this place is very relaxed and laid back. As in, come as you are, all are welcome here. It's got a very diversified atmosphere. My opinion of this restaurant may be considered biased as I've been coming here since they opened, for many, many years. The food is very good, and the owner and her family are amazing. They continuously go out of the way to help my elderly father, who had also been coming here since they opened. So see, for me, it means family and it's great!!! My father can be very opinionated and hard-headed, stuck in his ways, as you may say, and they still treat him very well. Oh yeah, and the prices are actually fairly low for the amount of food that you get, which is always 2 meals for me. Or, maybe just a late night snack or something. I have never been able to finish it in one sitting. So if you're looking for some real good food and laid back (no dress code), place to enjoy a meal, I recommend this place! Never actually eaten here..however my car that I inherited battery died so was stranded there for about 3 hours! Anyway..I asked for a jump to just to be able to drive the car home..I had jumper cables just needed a jump from another car. I walked into the restaurant and asked for help after explaining the situation to the workers. Well..talk about being treated as though the staff was disgusted with me for my plea of help. I even asked to use there phone to see about getting help and was refused even that too. I asked some of the customers that came out if they could help and the customers didnt want anything to do with help. A guy pulled in from the street seeing me with the hood up and jumper cables offered to help give me a boost. I was very appreciated for this help. I am not sure how a place of business can ignore someone who is in need of help and dont even offer a call to a tow place or even allow me to call a family member for help. I honestly wont go to this place to eat just because of how they treated me and I was not even a customer! Can you imagine being treated like this about your food or even worse how they care about...

Well, for Roseburg OR this is the best place I know of to eat Chinese food. My favorite dish is Kung Pao Chicken so my opinion on a Chinese joint is largely based on how delicious they prepare this dish. At Chi's they include water chestnuts and fresh peanuts in their Kung Pao which I like and the chicken comes in small bite-size pieces which is also a plus. All of their food is served piping hot and quick!!! Even today on a Friday afternoon when the restaurant was rather busy I hardly waited at all for my food to come. I would also recommend the lemon chicken and the pan fried noodles. The only dish I wouldn't recommend is the broccoli beef. The broccoli is cooked perfectly but to me the beef is too chewy and stringy. I've order it more than once and every time I've been dissatisfied.
