As I travel around for work, I'm always on the lookout for new places. This time was mexican. As you approach, you notice that the ambiance is very noticable. They went all out to make it feel like a mexican restaurant. The entry lobby was a bit tight, so if you had too many people waiting to be seated, it would get crowded pretty quick. This is compounded by the fact that when you leave... this is where you also pay. So it ends up being a choke point with lots of people. The good news is that we were sat fairly quick as soon as we showed up.
Chips and salsa are served up. I saw some photo's in the reviews showing beans, but they didn't offer that. (Though I didn't ask either). The salsa tasted good. Had a little spice, but not over the top. The chips were ok, but not warm like at some places.
As I reviewed the menu, it looked pretty standard for a full size mexican restaurant, as they had what seemed like all of the basics. One thing that caught my eye were the nickel and dime charges. Only one soda refill. Chip refills $. Anything extra had charges. For some things that you would think would be covered. Glad I didn't ask for beans to dip the chips...
My friend ordered the steak fajita, and I had Arroz con Pollo. His Fajita arrived literally 'on fire'. Kind of a fun experience. He is pretty picky about his Fajitas, and he said it tasted really good. He had a decent amount of cheese, sour cream, gauc, and pico on the side.
My AcP was smothered in sauce, a good balance of chicken, mushrooms, rice and cheese. I asked for no Onion, and they honored that. I did ask for a side of sour cream, but it never arrived. Thankfully, my friend doesn't eat his. The food wasn't spicy at all, but had a good flavor. I think personally, I would have wanted more chili powder and cumin, but that's me.
Service was friendly, and mostly pretty fast. At the end it took some time to get the check, but otherwise they were good.... it was busy, so you have to factor that in.
There are TVs in certain areas. My guess was to show sports. But Tennis was on. Slow sport day I suppose. LOL
All in all......
Read moreWe went there yesterday & ordered a strawberry dacari for $9...it was decently made & I enjoyed it! Ordered a Pork Carnitas platter for 15.95 , so big we shared it. Also the tortillas that came with the platter were so overly cooked THEY FELL APART & you could NOT wrap any food in them!! (Now on the smaller portion section it says there is an extra charge of $1 per extra plate, however it wasn't stated on the part of the menu we ordered from.) So, let's say those two items came to $26 dollars including the $1 plate charge. The ONLY other thing we ordered was one LEMONADE at $7.00??!!!! Our BILL CAME TO $33.00 & some change!! Really?? The food was good, but the fact that they just blatantly RIP YOU OFF, WHEN THEY THINK YOU'RE NOT PAYING ATTENTION IS JUST BAD BUSINESS!! THERE ARE TOO MANY OTHER MEXICAN RESTAURANTS TO CHOOSE FROM RATHER THAN GO BACK THERE TO BE ROBBED!!👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾 (Not to mention I said hello to the General manager "COOKIE" ,whom I've met before, & she couldn't open her mouth or walk 4 feet to greet me! All she did was stand there and nod her head ??👎🏾 The best thing this restaurant has as far as personal service is "JORDAN" a kind and thoughtful busboy who helped my husband (who is handicap) get to our vehicle!! Many thanks to you , service well...
Read moreWe walked over from the chevy dealer while we awaited an oil change, typically around 45 min to an hour. We had a watermelon margarita, mine on the rocks, my husbands blended, we both loved it. Not too sugary but just perfect and refreshing. The salsa was spicy but not crazy hot, and the chips were freshly made and warm. The atmosphere was relaxed. We came in on a Monday around 345-445pm. I ordered a burrito, with shredded chicken, it comes with sauce poured over and topped with cheese, with rice and beans on the side. My husband ordered 2 chicken enchiladas, which also came with rice and beans and we got sides of guac and sourcream. Prices were great, Service was great, it felt like family was serving us. Everything came out within 5 to 10 minutes, or so it felt, we sat down, ordered, had 2 of those big margaritas and ate and paid, all in about 40 minutes. We'll definitly be back. We enjoyed the decore and the relaxing music playing and had a really...
