Bambu is my family's favorite go to Chinese restaurant. Located in Roseville, next to Safeway, at Pleasant Grove and Roseville Parkway with plenty of parking. The dining room is clean and nicely decorated. We are always seated promptly and greeted friendly by a lady, who I believe, is the owner. We are always quickly served water and hot tea.
Bambu has an extensive menu of Asian cuisine. My family and I usually read through many of the items just to decide, in the end, on our usual favorites. We usually start off with an order of pot stickers (Chinese dumplings). Bambu's pot stickers are different from others I've been served at other restaurants. The dough is twice as thick as any other that I have tried. They are prefectly fried and presented, but I would like them better if the dough was thinner.
The usual entree for my folks is the Feast Garden with chicken added and steamed rice. The Feast Garden $7.95 is a medley of broccoli, sugar snap peas, Napa cabbage, mushrooms, water chestnuts and onions stir-fried with soy vinaigrette and garlic sauce. . Bambu's steamed rice $1.50 (per person) is traditional sticky white rice.
Then for me it's the Generals Chicken and BBQ Pork Fried Rice. The General's Chicken $8.95 is chicken lightly battered, with House special spicy sauce. Reminiscent of an orange chicken, but I wouldn't call it spicy. The Pork or Chicken Fried Rice $7.95 comes with chicken or pork, carrots, peas, eggs and green onions. This rice has a nice smokey flavor, plenty of pork, always moist, and not clumped together. Yum
I personally have never had dessert here. I'm just too full from all the great food, but you do get a nice iced fortune cookie. It's a nice touch and delicious.
Here are the pluses. I have eaten here many times and I do recommend this fine restaurant. The food is served hot, fresh, and is very good. Here are the minuses. If you order an appetizer it may come before or after your entrees. Your entrees will arrive on the table as they are cooked, one plate at a time, not all at the same time. Minus 1/2 star.
The service is over ambitious. Minus 1/2 star. You'll be asked many times "how is everything". "It's still fine". In their effort to do a good job they over do it. Usually we're still talking, taking our time eating, yet the staff wants to come and box it all up. What's the hurry??? Makes you feel rushed and uncomfortable, but I do keep coming back. The food is very good.

Read moreI was looking for a good Chinese food restaurant that could cater a party of 65 people for our bi-monthly meeting. I visited four (4) locations and this is the one I selected: Bambu Gardens. Below, I will tell you why: I work in this area, but I live one hour away and am not familiar with this area. I decided to stop in and check them out. No reservation was needed. I arrived on a weekday at 11 am (only me, no other customers) and was told to sit anywhere I liked. I sat down, and my server's name was Bing. Bing handed me my menu and water. She patiently waited for me to place my order and also gave suggestions. I ordered their Lunch Special L9 Sesame Chicken and a Sprite. The Sprite arrived along with an excellent sweet and sour soup. At this point, Bing was not aware that I wasn't just here for the food, but also for the service and restaurant health conditions. Check. Check. Check! In the meantime, other customers were drifting in. Soon after, Bing arrived with my ordered plate. The food presentation was excellent, with steam of fresh cooking coming from the plate. Bing was off to the side to ensure I was enjoying myself and poised to assist me in any way she could. Bing would check in on me from time to time. Bing saw that I was near or at the completion of my lunch meal and offered to remove my plate. Bing arrived with the bill, all in order, and I gave her the credit card for processing. I completed the transaction at my table, and as I was getting ready to leave, I was convinced that this was going to be the restaurant that would cater to my staff of 65 hungry, picky, greedy (great!) employees. I asked Bing for a catering menu, and she explained and made suggestions, which were very helpful. Soon after, I was on my way back to the office. After meeting with my executive team, it was decided that we would go back and place an order. We went back, and like clockwork, Bing was there, and she assisted me in placing a $1,200.00+ order. They offered free delivery for the date and time of our meeting, but we decided to pick up our order. In conclusion, the catered food was prepared and on time for pick-up. The trays of food had a great, appetizing presentation. And soon after, my entire staff had very favorable comments about the food choices! Thanks to the staff and manager for making the process very easy. But most of all, thank you to Bing and her customer service skills. Bing turned an $18.00 lunch special into a $1,200+...
Read moreOn December 8, 2024, I visited Bambu Garden with my family to celebrate a special occasion—our anniversary with my husband. We ordered several dishes, including Mongo BF Chow Mein, and took the leftovers home in containers.
Unfortunately, while eating this dish at home, I discovered a piece of metal wire in the food. This is an extremely dangerous issue that could have caused serious harm. I documented the incident with a photo and have the receipt to confirm my visit.
What makes this situation even more alarming is that I was eating this meal with my two young children, aged 2 and 10, who were sharing the food with me. If either of them had swallowed this piece of wire, it could have resulted in a fatal outcome.
To make matters worse, our experience at the restaurant itself was far from pleasant. Despite the fact that we were celebrating an important occasion, the staff treated us with noticeable rudeness. The server was impolite, almost hostile, and placed the plates on the table in a disrespectful and careless manner.
After discovering the metal wire, I attempted to address the issue by calling the restaurant.
However, the response from the staff was appalling: • On my first call, the employee hung up immediately when I started explaining the problem. • On my second and third calls, the employee either refused to notify the owner or claimed the owner was unavailable, then hung up again. • When I asked for contact information for the manager or owner, the employee also refused and ended the call.
This kind of unprofessional and dismissive behavior is unacceptable, especially when dealing with a serious food safety issue that could have endangered children’s lives.
Given the staff’s refusal to allow me to contact the restaurant’s management directly and the complete lack of contact information on the restaurant’s website (apart from a single phone number), I am left with no choice but to escalate this issue to higher authorities. I intend to report this incident to the relevant food safety agencies to ensure a thorough investigation into this restaurant’s practices.
My family and I will absolutely not be returning to Bambu Garden, and I urge others to exercise caution when considering...
