This is not just a food/beer review. We've been patrons of Moksa many times since it opened and it's never failed to be an enjoyable visit. The service has always been top-notch with everyone super friendly and personable. The food is great and the beer is even better. We have yet to try visiting for breakfast, but that will happen, I promise. Trivia night has always been a great time and we are looking forward to trying out Wednesday night music bingo.
What brings me to finally write a review after all this time is an emotional visit that we had earlier this week.
Sadly, our 19-year-old son died in October of 2022. This Tuesday, just a bit over a year from his death, he would have celebrated his 21st birthday. We had looked forward to laughing and joking about all his teenage antics while celebrating with him over his first (legal) beer. Unfortunately, we will never get that moment. However, we still felt like we needed to honor him and his special day. We came up with the idea of going to Moksa on his birthday, which happened to be trivia night (even better), and buying someone a beer in his honor with the request that they "cheers" to him at their table. I made up a card for the bar to give with the beer with the request that we stay anonymous. It was a struggle for me to even explain what it was I wanted for them to do because I was trying so hard not to break down into tears. Thankfully, they understood. This is where the staff at Moksa stand above the rest. Once it was realized why we wanted to buy someone a beer, we were treated with such amazing kindness. They could have just gone on with everything as normal since it was a busy evening, but they took the time to give their condolences, give hugs, and just react with so much genuine empathy that it made it feel as if our boy still mattered to this world.
Here's to the amazing part. As we looked around wondering who was the recipient of our son's birthday beer, one of the staff (I am so sorry for not getting your name, I was in such a fog) came out and told us that they were going to have Ashley (of Brain Freeze Trivia) request that everyone sing happy birthday to our son. It was such a phenomenal gesture and when Ashley requested for everyone to raise their glass and sing happy birthday to our boy, it was the most amazing thing for this mama's heart to witness. Thank you for honoring our son. We left pretty quickly right after so I could have a moment, but I cannot thank Moksa and their staff enough for making such a difficult day turn out to be something amazing. Your generosity, kindness, and empathy have earned a customer for life. I wish Aidan could have seen all of this. I think that he would have liked it. Thank you, Molly (Hawks) and Mike (Fagnoni), for bringing Moksa to Roseville and for bringing in such amazing people as...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Moksa Barrel House in Roseville, and let me tell you, it was an experience to remember! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly and fast service that set the tone for an amazing evening.

The ambiance of Moksa Barrel House is nothing short of appealing. It creates the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed and enjoyable time with friends or family.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the Hz So Good Hard Kombucha with Yuzu, Strawberry, & Elderberry from Mindscape. Oh my goodness! It was hands down the best Hard Kombucha I have ever had. The blend of flavors—Yuzu, Strawberry, and Elderberry—created a harmonious and incredibly smooth taste that was not only refreshing but also exceptionally tasty. It's a must-try for anyone visiting Moksa!
To accompany my delightful beverage, I opted for the onion rings, and they did not disappoint. Crisp, golden perfection with a delicious flavor that left me craving for more.
With such a fantastic experience, I can't wait to go back and explore their breakfast items. Moksa Barrel House has truly won me over, and I find myself wishing for more locations to spread the joy they bring to the taste buds.
In conclusion, if you're in Roseville, Moksa Barrel House is a must-visit. Whether you're a fan of hard kombucha, delectable snacks, or a welcoming atmosphere, this place has it all. Kudos to Colin and the entire team for making this a culinary experience...

Right when I walked in, the size of the dining room threw me off. From the outside, it didn’t seem that big. But, it’s a pretty big with its high ceilings and significant square footage. Plenty of seating choices of communal long tables, high pub tables, and smaller tables made it a great option for any group size.
Towards the back wall, to the far left is where beer and alcohol can be bought. To the far right is for ordering food and non alcoholic drinks. The wall menu board is hard to see while standing in line. At least for my aging eyes. But don’t fret, the QR menu codes are plastered all over the place. For the food, they give you a buzzer and will buzz ya for pickup. The lunch and dinner menu are the same, it includes fries $5-13 (a bunch of different kinds), burgers $8-13, chicken sandwiches $10-15, salads $6-12, hot dog $9, and soft serve. They even serve breakfast, starting at 7 am. Coffee & espresso drinks are served all day while the hot breakfast items stop at 11 am.
I bought a hot dog. They serve Snake Rive Farm Wagyu dog on a potato bun. The dog was split grilled but was served lukewarm. I suppose the dog was hot off the grill but when they added the cold relish, chopped tomatoes, and other condiments, it must have decreased its temp. But despite that, I’m game to...
