I drove 15 minutes to go to Jackie Inn on my lunch break, worth the trip! I dined in at one of the tables. This restaurant is very clean and kept clean.
It's also also nice that it has a garage door style openness, allowing for enjoying a nice outdoor eating experience on sunny days.
I was greeted by proprietor (I apologize I didn't get your name) who then took my order.
I ordered the Beef and Broccoli lunch special and some pork bao zi. Both were delicious and satisfying. Tai hao chi le.
The beef was tender and juicy, the broccoli was fresh and packed with flavor, and the rice was cooked to sticky perfection. The special included a fried spring roll, which was equally crunchy and juicy when the fillings hit the taste buds.
When I got my food, I even got a pretty fancy golden fork, I couldn't not use it! This was a simple thing that really made the experience cool.
The decor is modern with some sweet Chinese calligraphy banners and some contemporary style art panels.
Also, I like that you can see into the kitchen and watch the team in action making the food.
Temporary note: as of the moment, there is some construction on Rochester Road a bit further down from the restaurant preventing access to one connecting road, but the trip is worth it. Or get delivery.

Read moreJackie Inn is such an amazing addition to the North Hills. We have way too many chains and itâs so nice to not only have a non chain with amazing food.
Since there are only two tables in the restaurant, we have gotten take out and delivery. We only live in Westview so the food is still pretty warm when we get it.
We are in love with the dumplings and bao buns. They are some of the best in Pittsburgh. Sooooo good! Makes you want a never ending plate. We also got the beef fried rice which was really good and such a big portion we had it for dinner and lunch. The ABC Chicken is very good too which is like general Tsos.
I would love to try the Mongolian beef and the lemongrass basil chicken.
They also sell Penn State ice cream which is always delicious and another nice perk.
The people are amazing too. So happy and smiley. Theyâre also grateful for your busy which doesnât always happen other places.
You must come and try it....
Read moreOrdered takeout, and was handed the wrong bag by mistake (also my fault for not checking). The manager called as a courtesy, and told me to keep the extra food even though I insisted on paying for it.
Mistakes do happen, but I was afforded the opportunity to try a bunch of dishes that I wouldn't have normally ordered. WOW...the food was incredibly hot and delicious, and I especially loved that you can see their clean kitchen preparing all of the fresh ingredients. In my opinion, hot and sour soup is usually an afterthought, but it turned out to be the star of the show. It featured 2 different types of mushrooms, tofu, tons of egg ribbons and scallions, and other ingredients that I'm sure I'm missing. So incredibly rich and flavorful.
I felt horrible with the mix-up, but I cannot wait to come back and bring some friends! This place is an...
