TLDR! Late week Dinner time pop in, they werent busy and we were very happy with the fast seating, drinks, food service and overall food quality. We've been here a few times as we pass through, early on they had some grand opening growing pains months ago but have course corrected. Crawl, walk, run right? I think they are doing great now.
Overall, the food is pretty good. Newcomers should absolutely get the Mozzarella logs. There are four, that you could cut up and likely serve a party of 8 without issue to have a sizable sampling. They honestly should hold a 'show us your cheese pull' photo contest on social media. A+
I can attest to the Reuben being a good sandwich. If you like extra dressing, kraut etc, they can accommodate your individual tastes. A (thicker bread would make this an A+)
The gryos here are pretty legit. The meat and sauce are the most important details, and it's obvious they source the 'real stuff' for their gyros. Most restaurants do not aside from dedicated gyro shops. A+
They do have other food options here that we've yet to try, like chicken and waffles, a pot roast/tots dish, steak dinner, and several other options including salads with your choice of protein, etc etc.
Bubba's is known for their craft burgers and smashburgers. One look at their menu makes it obvious that their focus is on burgers, with a large variety of burgers concoctions that would drive Guy Fiera to this place to check them out. While you can still get your build your own, what about a thick burger patty between two grill cheese sandwiches? Sounds crazy, but Im sure it's amazing. We've had their burgers on several occasions, and the meat is flavorful.
The one suggestion I have for Bubba’s would be to upgrade the buns they use. Right now, the buns feel a little too basic and light for the size and quality of the burgers, especially the craft and full-sized options. They compress too easily, which throws off the bun-to-meat ratio, you end up with a lot of meat and very little bun to balance it. It also makes the burger look cheaper than it is, which doesn’t match the pricing. A better, sturdier bun would really elevate the whole experience and help showcase the great flavors and creativity that Bubba’s already has going for it. B+
Fries, hey let's go...these are natural cut fries. If you are from the burgh you love them! I do wish they would use bigger potatoes so there arent as many 'fines' in the lot. Oh well I'll just toss those in gravy and eat them anyway.
Overall, if you've bothered to read this far, you are probably already headed to Bubba's for a Monoga-Hell-Yeah burger, or maybe you are keeping it "light" with a bacon egg and cheese smashburger? Dont forget to consider their in house slow cooked corned beef Reuben. Or ignore everything and just stop by for their Mozerralla logs, do a cheese pull, snap some instagram photos to impress your friends, while enjoying one of many draft beer options.
New to Bubbas? Use your GPS to find the place because it's where Rt51 does a weird split, separating north and south bound lanes by a larger mass of land. It's in the Rostraver ice gardens aka the something bank center. There is no mention of the ice rink or the restaurant at the entrance sign, so just keep going the GPS isnt lying it's there, trust me. :) Also if you go when it's fall spring, you get to watch people ice skate and play hockey. How...
Read moreWaited about ~5 mins or so to be seated. Got seated at a table with a nice view overlooking the ice rink. Service speed was average. It looked like there was only a singular waitress and bartender working. They switched off taking the appetizer order and then waited about 10 minutes to take the main order. We started off with the Sharables "Famous" Mozzarella Logs. Portion was generous (4) but breading was extremely greasy. Side of marinara was skimpy. For the main course we ordered: Burgh's Best Cheese Steak and the Open Faced Pot Roast Sammich. Fries were overcooked and bland. Pot Roast was good but I was expecting a larger portion after the monstrous appetizer. The cheese steak was average. Certainly not the BURGH'S BEST as the menu indicated but certainly not the worst I've had. Restaurant and restroom was very clean and orderly. Prices were in-line with pretty much every other sit-down restaurant. I regret not ordering a burger since one half of the menu was exclusively dedicated to only BURGHERS as you can see from the...
Read moreI was searching for a venue to have my daughter's baby shower that would 1, be in between both families areas and 2, hold enough people. When I found Bubbas Burgers and CFS Event Center it was a great match. And my daughter was excited to have the burger bar! Working with Harley, the Customer Experience Manager, was such a wonderful experience. Her and Justin quickly felt like friends and were quick to answer any questions and accommodate all requests. When the day came and we met Dez, the head chef, she also did not disappoint. One small problem came up with the food. I didn't even say anything, Dez took it upon herself to come to me and make things right. Out of her own pride in her teams work. One other thing to mention: it was the same weekend as the Circus. We never heard the Circus and you would never had known the section next to you was a full house. I would definitely have another 'party' here again and highly recommend anyone that is looking for a venue/food to...
