You be the judge. $43 plus a 3% convenience fee to use a card for a 16 OZ prime rib that was about 30-40% fat with sides of mashed potatoes and corn. Oh yeah, you can replace the corn with a side salad for an additional charge of what the server thought was $4 and some change. I agree with Alex. You’re paying for the building remodel; not for better than average food or service. Go to Texas Roadhouse instead or buy some organic grass-fed steaks from Whole Foods or a local farmer for a lot less. There’s definitely an imbalance of cost vs. value.
In response to the restaurant’s representative’s reply: The server is the one that told me the prime rib was 8oz, 16oz or 32oz options. She’s also the one that didn’t know exactly how much the up charge for a side salad to “replace” the corn is other than $4 and some change. Having no other veggies as an included option like broccoli or spinach or mixed veggies is unreasonable for a $43 steak with at least 1/3 of it inedible. At no time did she mention an ATM was available; however, I’m sure you have the convenience fee, which should be more properly called the inconvenience fee, to deter patrons from using a card and instead use your ATM, which I’m sure the owner profits from its use. There’s been no other restaurant to my recent memory, including Sonny’s Grill, that makes it so obvious they’re charging you to use your card in a world that’s now mostly digital and when most people rarely carry cash. Furthermore, it’s not necessarily that the fee was $1.29, it’s the principle of it in that the food is already overpriced for its quality, as others have stated in their reviews. If it’s only $1.29 and no big deal then why does the restaurant pass it onto the patron? Moreover, if you check your cameras again you’ll see the server never checked on me after receiving my food until I was finished eating.
Go to Texas Roadhouse; you’ll save $13 for a 16oz prime rib with less fat and get better side options and delicious...
Read moreWe recently had a relatively large family event at The Belle Tavern, and it couldn’t have went any better.
From the initial visit to the planning to the party itself, Melissa was attentive every step of the way. She knows how to organize a party, and answered a lot of questions we had with quick and thorough responses.
We reserved the two rooms downstairs- the Cellar Lounge and Banquet Room. Both are great spaces and serves their respective purposes well. The lounge is a cool place for drinks and conversation while the banquet room is perfect for meals.
We went with the Italian buffet for the party and to say it got rave reviews from the guests would be an understatement. Along with salad, pasta and fresh rolls, we had the chicken cacciatore, meatballs and green beans.
True Italians and Italian lovers who attended couldn’t get over the meatballs. Meatball making and eating is almost a religious experience for them, and those in attendance claimed to have seen the gates of heaven open and a vision of a new pope at first bite. (Maybe a slight exaggeration, but they were really good!).
We cant say enough about Melissa who was with us for the entire event. She played the roles of bartender and organizer with grace and dedication. We all truly appreciated her hard work.
So if you’re planning a party, The Belle Tavern should be high on your list of potential venues. It will be the only place...
Read moreWe were so excited to have a new place to eat in this area needless to say we’re disappointed. Upon being seated we Found out it’s The same owner from two other places that we aren’t the biggest fans of the food. Ambiance is great at Kodiax and The Belle. However, the food is like cheap over seasoned cafeteria food. We ordered a plethora of things and were very disappointed. The worst was the 1/2 of steamed hot shrimp. Loaded in a Cajun blackened seasoning similar to Old Bay but a much heavier taste.. they served it with Coctail sauce. 🤣🤣 I grew up near the coast so maybe it’s something they didn’t teach in this area… Cold shrimp/Cold Cocktail Sauce and Steamed Hot/Hot butter! The service was great until I asked why did they bring me cocktail with hot shrimp and could I have butter? The blackened Cajun salmon was literally drowned in a blackened powder with a horrible attempt at a Remoulade Sauce covering the whole thing. Everything was heavily seasoned. The safest thing to eat at all of his places is the steak on a stone at kodiax cause you cook it and season it yourself. I wish the owner would step up his game with the food at Kodiax and The Belle Tavern. I’m scared to try the new steak place he has attached to the Belle. Other than that the drinks were great and it’s a really pretty...
