Such a terrible experience. First of all, for the crazy prices you would think sides would be included, but no. You have to pay extra for anything. Even about $4 a piece for a fountain soda. Second, the 2 rolls that’s were served to our table were literally so hard we couldn’t break them in half. My gf thought it was a joke and commented she would probably break a tooth trying to eat one. Then my 22oz ribeye that I ordered came out and looked horrible and tasted just as bad. I order ribeyes from other places all the time and this shriveled up overcooked thin piece of meat (no way was 22oz) looked more like a cheap sirloin than a ribeye. It was burned on the edges and the middle was undercooked. Plus it literally had ZERO flavor. It’s completely ridiculous selling such a terrible cut of steak for $65. And it didn’t stop there. My gf ordered the prime rib king cut for $59 and after trying to cut around all the uneditable fat and gristle she took 3 bites and gave up. She said it had no flavor at all and didn’t even want to take the rest home it was so bad. The only thing out of the whole meal that was actually good was the French onion soup. I should have went to the Texas Roadhouse for a steak like I had planned on Instead of trying an “upscale” place. I would have paid 1/3 of the price for waaaaaay better food and service. Do better Sonny’s. We live close and eat out quite a bit and if your food was way way better we would have probably been regular customers and giving you our business. Now because of our horrendous experience, we will NEVER be back again and will NOT recommend your establishment to...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing the minute we stepped into the restaurant. Beautifully decorated while greeted with a smile. The owner did a great job with the new location. The food was excellent from start to finish. Can't forget to mention how perfect the drinks were as well, one of the better mixed dirty martinis I've ever had. We started with the Cajun shrimp followed by a house salad and wedge salad prior to the main course. Highly recommend you save the leftover sauce from the shrimp to dip your Warm rolls in. Wedge salad had thick blue cheese dressing and crumbles. For the main course, we ordered and split a 8 oz filet, perfectly cooked medium, and the house specialty crab cakes. Wow hard time deciding which was better. The crab cakes had very little filler and all crab. The steak was well seasoned and charred on the outside while a perfect temperature inside. For sides we went with the portobello mushrooms and lobster mac and cheese. I love mushrooms and these were some of the best I've had. I kid you not, we recently ate at Eddie Vs in Pittsburgh and the world famous Keens Steakhouse in Manhattan and Sonny's Prime was better than both! I kid you not. The owner came out to the table after dinner to ask how we liked our dinner and talk about the new location. To top things off, it was my birthday and the owner was kind enough to send out a piece of cheesecake on the house. We ended the night out in the bar area with a drink. Highly recommend and will be back in the very near future. Belle Vernon is lucky to have a fine dining establishment like...
Read moreMaybe it was an off night…. But we were seriously disappointed. For starters, my husband ordered an old fashioned and was not able to select his bourbon 🤷♀️, they bring the drink and it’s straight bourbon with an orange peel… Starters indicate a choice between spinach salad, ceasar salad or French onion soup. We all ordered the ceasar salad which was served with spinach and not romaine… when we asked if we got the correct salad we were told this is their version of a ceasar… call me crazy, but the options should be spinach salad or spinach salad…. Not everyone likes raw spinach….
