I was looking to get out of the house for a healthy-ish gluten-free Sunday lunch. Stumbled upon Weird Food, and the name alone had me curious. I love Indian and Mediterranean food! The first thing that caught my eye is how inclusive the menu is. Omnivores, vegans, health-conscious diners, and loaded fry aficionados will all find something on this menu. Didn’t catch the owner’s name (if you read this, let me know!) but I can tell he really cares about quality and your experience. I got the lamb gyro and rice plate. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, and the meat perfectly cooked and seasoned. All that over the fluffiest, flavorful rice. And if you’re worried about coming to the food truck park because of the heat outside, there’s plenty of bench seating in the shade with misters. I didn’t feel a thing. Can’t wait to come back!

First time visiting this food truck area in RR.. The (assumed) owner was very nice and welcoming.. we were taking our time looking at menu since it was our first time and they offer a lot of things.. finally, the owner asked my bf what he wanted and he can make it however my bf wanted.. my bf said veggies, lamb, and make it spicy.. We walked around and visited other food trucks.. finally our food is done and bf approved! spicy level could habe been taken up a notch but perhaps next time they will get it right.. so the meal that was served was lamb and veggie variety on a bed of rice and naan (or pita?) bread on the side.. it was delicious and flavorful.. Will definitely come back for this one..

I need to clarify something. There is a relatively close gas station called weird or weirdo near by and I keep seeing reviews here referencing it. Now the food truck that is in this exact google maps location is amazing. The gentleman tending to us was super welcoming and took great pride in his food and didn’t let us down. I got to try the loaded fries and that easily is my recommendation. The location is perfect with plenty of seats and as of now their menu will expand once the grand opening happends and we will gladly return.

Before I dive into how amazing this place is, let's address the elephant in the comments section: Weird Food is a Halal food truck park in the "Sunset On The 'Rise food truck park" (NE side of Sunrise x Indian Meadows Dr). It is completely separate from the gas station with the "Weird" marque sign that's two blocks away (NE side of Sunrise x Eagles Nest), so please don't mix them up!

Now that we've cleared that up, let's talk about the magic happening at Weird Food. The owner is genuinely one of the friendliest people you'll meet, making your visit a delightful experience from start to finish. And the food! Prepare to be impressed. Not only are the portions incredibly generous – you definitely won't leave hungry – but the flavor profiles are absolutely phenomenal. Every dish is rich, vibrant, and undeniably cooked with love. You can tell they put their heart into each order. Their menu is impressive and while I haven't had everything, everything I have had has been wonderful! If you're craving delicious food that delivers on both quantity and incredible taste, give this place a try!

The food park itself mostly underwhelming but they have plenty of shaded tables and water misters for hot days. So I'm excited to see how the food...

Got a lamb gyro, and got caught behind a large family order so I was told it would be a 15min wait, which I was fine with. When I came back in 15min, they told me 5 more minutes. Then when I came back the second time, I was told 2 more minutes. Finally on the third time back I waited another minute and then got my wrap. To their credit, they apologized and I was super understanding of the wait- the family in front of me had a very complicated and large order so I get it. That honestly doesn’t affect this review much. The guy working the window even said he’d “take care” of me next time, and I appreciate that.

What does affect it is the food. After waiting 25min my lamb meat in the gyro was not very hot, and overcooked so far that the hard edges on the chunks were hard to chew and lacking good taste.

I normally wouldn’t leave a review on just the wait time, or just the food, and happily give them a second chance if it was either of those things alone. But both together is just too much for me. I can’t recommend this place for someone looking for...
