Ok so I am going a little deep with this. Pizza is my specialty y'all, I served and cooked different styles of pizza at multiple pizza joints soooo yeah I kinda know pizza.
First off, we live in a small town and have the normal pizza places, Papa John's, Little Ceasars, Pizza Hut, you know...same ones as everyone else. We have 2 main pizza restaurants, La Piazza and Vesuvios. From what I have heard they are owned by the same family.....could be wrong but in any case, they couldn't be more different.
NOW on to the review. We went to La Piazza on a Tuesday night and had forgotten they have open mic night so it was loud.....really loud.....light dancing in the club 90s style. They were short staffed and busy, I get it, I waited tables. So we left and went to Vesuvios. They were also busy. We got sat in at a booth and the host took our drink order, after about 10 minutes the waitress came over and asked what we would like to drink(again). She left and about 10 minutes later brought our drinks. She then proceeded to take the order of a large table beside us, about 15 ppl. No worries except literally 20 mins later she came back to take our order. By this time our drinks needed a refill. She brought refills and we asked for our food to go. That took 20-25 mins. When our food came and we got home the pizza was not done and had overkill of cheese(I had asked for light cheese).
On top of everything else we sat and listened to the local baseball and screaming and shouting. PIZZA RESTAURANT NOT SPORTS BAR.....I have never really liked Vesuvios pizza but thought I would give it another try....bad idea....I'll deal with open mic...

We were looked at funny for walking in the front door, and we found out why shortly after we were seated. We were seated by the emergency/fire exit, which was propped open so patrons could enter and exit using it. It appears this is the norm, as everyone that entered during our visit used the fire door. This would be no big deal, however directly on the other side of this door is the smoking area for customers and employees alike. Due to the door being propped open, we were able to enjoy a side of cigarettes with our meal. To go along with that, the table beside us were vaping and blowing thick clouds towards the door. Speaking of our meal, we did manage to gag most of it down through the vape and cigarettes, though we would have had a better experience just buying frozen dinners next door and eating at home. The pizza was decent, the spaghetti sauce was on par with the generic brand at the grocery store, the alfredo sauce was good enough to compare to the name brand at the store. As I write this, I am clinging onto the toilet for dear life at the grocery store next door. My wife is in the ladies room and I can hear her doing the same. I could not recommend this place,...
Read moreThis was my first time going and I was told the Alfredo was good by a friend so I tried and omg he wasn't wrong. The amount of garlic toast you get with it is insane no one ever gives you that much bread and the fact that the entire thing is loaded with garlic and butter absolutely perfect. The portions were a bit huge for me but that just means I have lunch for the next day lol. My husband had a personal pizza which looked delicious wish I had stolen a bite. The size for that was also huge to me for a personal pan pizza but again it just means you have lunch or a snack the next day lol. The tea was delicious and the appetizer bread was delicious too. The only thing I have to say bad and this isn't a reflection on the waitress it's my own personal opinion is her and my husband used to work together so she kept calling him baby and things. I don't think that's polite or proper etiquette for a waitress to be calling someone's husband or wife for that being anything other than sir or ma'am. It made me quite uncomfortable and it seemed as if she directed her conversation towards just him. Not a deal breaker but don't let it happen to...
