We pass by this restaurant all the time and decided to give them a try tonight. They were doing takeout only. Their website did not indicate this, but when I looked later on Google I saw, so my bad there. We decided to just place a to-go order and ordered from their website. I got a message indicating that my order was placed and would be ready "in time." I have no idea what "in time" means, but I'm now guessing you will get your order before the end of time. Nothing indicated how long the wait was or what time we should pick up our food. We decided to just sit in the car for 20 minutes and then go check. The area people were standing in to wait for their orders was packed. The people working in the restaurant were doing everything possible to ignore whoever walked in to pick up their order. I got a worker's attention, asked if they had our order, and she walked away doing other things and never gave me an answer. About 10 minutes later I asked another worker and was met with the same response; she acknowledged I was speaking to her but she then just went about her business without giving me an answer. They even had an infant in the previous seating area and were too busy to tend to him/her. Eventually (1 hour and 15 minutes after the order was placed), they put our order on the counter. We thought maybe the wait would be worth it and arrived home excited to finally eat our food. We were disappointed to say the least. The food was edible, but nothing special. Shoprite's sushi department's food is just as good or...
Read moreUPDATE: they closed the dining room and never reopened it. They stopped delivering and their food is absolutely awful now. What a shame. The egg roll was good but the General Tso chicken was tough, chewy nastiness and my fried rice tastes like dirt. Literally like I remember dirt tasting from my childhood. My girlfriend's Lo Mein had more cabbage than noodles and there was almost no chicken. They should have just called it cole slaw. The food went in the trash and I won't be visiting them again. This is the 3rd and last time I threw out the food and they don't seem to care. I should have taken the hint from the fact that there was no one in the place at 12:30 pm.
FINALLY we have good Chinese food in the area of Lake Hopatcong! Every other Chinese food place around here is horrible to barely passable. I've found some decent sushi but that's it. I went to Damo Eating for the first time the other day and had a lunch special of sweet and sour chicken (cooked perfectly, tender, not stringy and delicious) with an egg roll (if you dine-in you get a spicy home-made duck sauce that is to die for!) with the pork fried rice (it actually has the ingredients that should be in it, lots of pork, bean sprouts, onions, carrots and peas). Add to this nice, friendly service, reasonable pricing and a deck in case you want to sit outside. A great experience and I will...
Read moreI honestly fell in love with this Asian restaurant after a whole year moving into this area. I was really having a hard time on finding good Asian restaurants and all of them have awful reviews or disgusting discoveries. I'm happy to say this place given me hope and reminded me of an previous restaurant I went to all the time for quick eats or cheap options. I never had a problem coming here and it's always fresh whenever you come in for take out. I had no idea they had other options of Asian dishes until the bento box took me by surprise. It was so rich in flavor and tasted absolutely delicious. It's by far the best restaurant for the money and quality. You'll definitely change your mind when you order from here and expect amazing food. I'll always...
