Service was friendly and fast, would have been a great experience had the food safety standards there not been abhorrent. While we waited for under 4 minutes for our buttered bagels I watched all of the food service folks working with gloves on. Who knows how many things they touched with these same gloves before and after our visit. But while we were there for about 3.5 minutes I watched one girl touch a dirty rag (not stored in sanitizer fluid), wipe the cutting board counter with this rag, touch a fridge door handle twice, touch a wad of cash in her back pants pocket that was about to fall out, then the best was she went through a hole in her jeans on the front of her thigh to scratch her leg, WITH THESE SAME GLOVES ON. Then I watched another woman (who sadly is the one who touched and package our bagels after I observed this) scroll through her cell phone (which we all know cell phones are filthy) with both gloved hands.
As if this practice of ignorance of basic food safety wasn’t enough to completely skeeve us out. My son found this piece of hair inside his bagel. Needless to say, he was too grossed out to eat it after all that. 😢
This place could be great if they were just trained in and practiced basic food safety, but because of this we will definitely not...
Read moreOpen at 4 am except on Sundays (6am). Great for the morning crew. They close at 3 pm. Why? I have no idea. They are hardly a breakfast only chain.
They serve middle of the line bagels' Better than Shoprite but not top quality. By contrast, Duncan Donuts across the street has better bagels. Pop's makes superior breakfast sandwiches. They have a large variety of club and hot sandwiches as well. Hamburgers. Salad platters and wraps. The usual fries and other sides. No soda fountain but bottled drinks.
Price is cheaper than McDonalds. They have a surprising amount of seating. Also, they are on the correct side of the highway out of town in the morning for breakfast and before route 80.
On the high end of quality for the price. My only real complaint is they have no dinner hours. I would eat here more if they did.
They could also use a website for online ordering and pickup or at least post their menu (which is substantial). They also...
Read moreI'd give it 4-5 stars if I had stuck to breakfast. Breakfast bagel sandwiches are amazing. The home fries are some of the best I've ever had.
But we went for lunch today. Got 2 really bad sandwiches. We got a wrap that sounded like a turkey wrap with some veggies on the menu . It was more like a veggie wrap with one small slice of turkey. One slice. And the lettuce was wilted.
I also got an Elvis. Lots of meat but sliced so thick. It was odd. Not a good cut for a sandwich. Plus the amount of dressing they put on it was laughably small. Didn't even come through in the sandwich.
I'll stick to breakfast.
Edit - I ain't buying breakfast anymore here either. 5 bucks for a bacon egg and cheese on a roll. Not even on a bagel. And the sandwich had TWO pieces of bacon on it. Two. 5 bucks. Pathetic. Place was great when it opened. It is now a place I will not...
