So for starters the pizza is amazing no doubt about it and We live down the street and were excited to try this place and unfortunately I was left disappointed. We came in Super Bowl Sunday around 740pm it was empty which was a good thing because when I called the day before the wait time was 2hrs so we were hopeful to be seated and get our food quickly and go home, sadly it was far from that. We sat down and the waitress was friendly and polite and explained the menu/pizzas since it was our first time mind you it’s empty in there and the menu says pizzas cooked in about 90 seconds or less which I thought it wouldn’t be a long wait we ordered an appetizer it came out fairly quickly and then waited and waited for the pizza it took about 45 min for our pizzas and the restaurant was empty. I don’t know who’s in the kitchen or what happened The waitress came and said that per the kitchen our food was brought out but it was not and so she went to tell them again they would need to remake our food. After already waiting 45’min in an almost empty restaurant I don’t know where the pizza that was ours went but it didn’t come to our table. we were told it would be another 10-15min to get our food. Im obviously annoyed and super hungry at this point and was told we could get an another app for free on the house for the wait and they could put it to go because they were about to close. That’s how long we waited on our food they were almost closing. We said sure go ahead and do that but then we changed our minds and said if we could just get a discount off the pizzas instead that have now have taken almost an hr to come to our table over the app she insisted that she would try but that her assistant general manager wouldn’t budge on the discount we said ok that’s fine I guess and didn’t argue with her because she tried and was trying to be helpful she brought me the receipt $81 for 3 of us. I always write reviews to show my experience and once someone noted I’m sure of it that I was taking photos of the empty restaurant and my food the waitress came back immediately with her assistant manager who tried to brush it off saying they ended up giving me the discount and that he apologized for the delay as they’re working through the kinks of a new restaurant and I get that but I truly feel that they only decided to help make it right after they noted I’m a reviewer and was taking photos of my food and restaurant. Why didn’t he just do it when the waitress told him from the beginning after waiting an hr for food. It’s a shame that the food was actually really good and I enjoyed the Neapolitan style pizza but to wait there for over an hr and then have the kitchen say they did bring our food out when they didn’t and then being almost forced to rush to eat because they were closing was not a good experience. I think time management needs work from the kitchen staff and pro active responses from management why wait to get it taken care of last minute if there’s an issue from the beginning be pro active and try to resolve it from the start and make it right at the end of the day there is no business without paying customers they should be taken care of especially if you just opened up. I attached photos of the empty restaurant and the receipt of the discount he...
Read moreOctober 2025 update: Ordered takeout. I think they perfected the crust now. Ordered three pizzas and none of them had bitter burnt bottoms. Yes, there was some of the usual signature brick oven spots, but not enough that it tasted awful. Would absolutely recommend them now. Soppressata from Ella tasted a bit old, like the fat began to go rancid. Other than that, everything was great. Added one more picture, the bright one.
Old Update: Management called and actually talked about the issue, sounds like they are willing to address the burnt crust taste that myself and other reviewers have posted. Seems like a good company that cares about quality. Will give it some time before coming back and updating. Maybe they just need to lower the oven temperature a little bit, most of the charring happens on the bottom.
Previously: Two days in a row the pizza comes out 50% burnt. I hate the taste of charcoal, and I don’t mean that good chargrilled flavor. I mean straight up licking a charcoal brick. That’s what the pizza tastes like on half the bites I take.
Just look at the plate. That’s not sauce. That’s SOOT. Tastes like a chimney.
Yes there are good flavors from the premium ingredients, but they’re heavily flavored with charcoal burnt smell and bitter taste. Disgusting half the bites. It’s a love hate relationship. I’ve been to other locations like Skillman and haven’t had this issue.
Spaghetti was ok. Have tasted better meatballs, lacks aromatics and flavor. Sauce too sour. Don’t like the interior vibe, it’s trying to be both a bar and romantic date place at same time and achieves neither. Too loud for a date. Not enough TVs and audio for a bar.
Service the day before was good. Service tonight didn’t ask if we needed more drinks nor refill.
Because of the burnt pizzas, two dinners in a row, I won’t be coming back to this location. Not unless they improve with the dough...
Read moreThis location is not ready for prime time. I have been a customer of this chain for about 8 years. This location opened about a month ago from this review. We have tried to go 2 other times and the wait was over 2 hours. We only had a 30 min wait tonight.
The place is REALLY SMALL. They needed to take their lead from other Cane Rosso locations and rented a larger place.
The staff and kitchen appear to be undertrained and unorganized. There were so many people running back and forth for what appeared to be no reason.
When we sat, we order drinks, and since we’ve been there so much, we ordered our food right away also. It took 15 minutes to get 1 water, 1 Coke, 1 ice tea, and 1 kids milk brought to the table. When I asked one of the managers that kept walking by if they can check on the drinks, he said, “Your server has a lot of tables.”
We did need to wait for a bit for the food, the kitchen appeared busy since we could hear the kitchen staff talking and trying to figure things out. But the food was good as it usually is.
When the server gave us our food, she asked us to please be patient since she they just sat her a 20 top. And she will try and check on us soon. A different server did stop and get us refills, very nice.
We were finished eating and we waited for the check. We waited.. waited.. waited. We stacked all the dishes in the middle of the table and wiped the table clean. I took out my credit card and sat it on the table. At this point the front of the restaurant was PACKED with people needing a table. There were managers frantically walking back and forth. No one noticed that we were finished. Finally the hostess walked by and we asked her to grab our check. She said, oh thank you, we need this table. I was thinking you could have had it 20 minutes ago when I put my card on the table.
We will be back, we like Cane Rooso, but this location needs a...
