Overall, the experience was average. I’m sure they’re nice people but service in general wasn’t the best lol.
They are a small business so I understand. However, my main concern was the food. I ordered 2 orders of dumplings, 1 order of edamame, & a bao order.
The bao was pretty good, the dough was fluffy and soft. The filling inside was also tasty, seasoning was just right.
Now, the dumplings were questionable. As an asian person I expected the dumplings to be fresh lol. However, that wasn’t the case. The cook grabbed some dumplings out the freezer and steamed it which I thought was unprofessional. The taste was alright, the dumpling wrap was unusually thick. Probably won’t come here for anymore dumplings.
As a person that loves creating my own dipping sauce, I was surprised to see that there were no condiments on the table nor a napkin dispenser! The sauce they give you is premade which is a basic sweet soy sauce mixture. I love combining soy sauce, garlic chili oil, and a little bit of sesame oil to give it that extra umph & spice. ✨
Edamame were fried…? I have never had them fried before & it was an unusual experience. I love edamame so it was bearable. It tasted alright but I assumed they were going to be steamed or boiled as well. The fried edamame and steamed dumpling was a no for me.
We left 10 minutes after our food came out. Our “plates” were to-go containers & they gave us 3 pieces of napkin lmao. This is definitely not a restaurant but more so a snack spot.
To conclude, everything was decent & basic. Location, customer service, food,...
Read moreReally enjoyed the Pork and Chives but I am at a lost for words because I would have to say that I enjoyed the BBQ Pork Bao more! This might be unfair as they remind me of the Siopao my family makes. There isn't too much filling but it was nice and the BBQ flavor doesn't overpower the pork. They also come with a variety of dipping sauces which was nice as they included separate sauces for each order
I went with the Pork and Chives based on the recommendation of other yelpers and was not disappointed. I normally go for deep fried but decided to give the pan fried a chance. While I enjoyed the pan fried, it seems like the little kiddos really are more into deep fried so I'll keep that in mind for future visits. This is definitely a place to try if you enjoy dumplings but don't sleep on the Bao while you are here. They also sell frozen dumplings at 30 for 20 bucks....
