I used to go here all of the time when I was younger, it was our families favorite spot. The food was great, the salsa was perfect, and it just always felt so inviting. BUT unfortunately the last visit I had recently was unexpected to say the least, I can't believe how much this place has gone down hill! Me and my family stopped for dinner about 6 months ago or so. The table we were sat down at was dirty, the waitress was not attentive AT ALL it actually seemed like everyone who was working that day was trying to avoid doing their job. Our orders were not correct the first time. NOW THE FOOD, my mom was served old tainted ground beef, we asked them to take the food away and she DID NOT want anything else. The meat had such a foul smell! The beans tasted old and canned, the ranch tasted like it had been sitting out in the open for days, the only thing that was ok were the chips that were served to the table after we had to ask for them multiple times. When we were leaving the "manager" came up to us and proceeded to try and make an excuse for the rancid beef, BUT ended up telling us that there were apparently a few other people who had sent there ground beef back and left! I'm pretty sure as a manager of a restaurant that should be a big red flag. So over all the place is terrible less than one stat actually, after knowing what it once was to seeing what it is now...I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone ever! And that...
Read moreIf you like your refried beans chewy and bland, then you’ll love El Coronado. Quite literally the worst refried beans I’ve ever eaten, and I eat refried beans all the time. In fact, I was planning on ordering a bean and cheese chimichanga for breakfast, which would’ve been my sixth chimi of the week. I know, I’ve got a problem, but step one is admitting it, right?
Anyway, I asked if the chimichanga came with a side of rice and beans. “Nope.” Uh, okay that’s fine. Does it come with all the fixings? Lettuce, pico, guac, and sour cream? “Nope. Just the chimi.” I hard passed on that sorry excuse for a chimichanga. 0 out of 13 score on the universal scale of chimichanga deliciousness. Do better, y’all. That’s pathetic.
Almost as pathetic as those refried beans I was telling you about earlier. I had to mix them with the canned enchilada sauces on my breakfast enchilada plate just to get them to go down.
The food fed me; and that’s all I have to say about that. We waited 45 minutes for the kitchen to get their act together. And the restaurant was maybe at 30% capacity. Sorry to say, not worth the wait.
Our server was great, though. Super sweet and accommodating. But she should consider finding a better restaurant. Don’t be enticed by the cute and inviting decor of El Coronado, or the fact that they have “Family” in their name. This restaurant is a bust.
Chewy refried beans, man. They...
Read moreWe ate at this restaurant on 6/3/22 at about noon. The three waitress were unfriendly, snotty and would not make eye contact. Even though the restaurant had very few people, we sat there for a an uncomfortable extended amount of time as they stood idle behind the counter whispering to each other, treating us as if we were invisible and ignoring us, we finally had to ask to be served. The experience was horribly unwelcoming and unfriendly. I would not recommend this strangely hostile restaurant to anybody traveling or visiting Safford. The staff at this restaurant had very bad attitudes and uncaringly rude. The staff were a extremely poor example of the good people we met in Safford. Please avoid taking your family or friends to...
