Horrible just horrible. The young man working the counter was personable as we ordered (and tipped areas as that is their model) So he has a good strategy and then didnāt bother with us. There were only three other tables in the whole diner at the time we were there, and they had already gotten their food. We each ordered a turkey club one with fries and one with onion rings. It was the only order going on in the kitchen and it took forever! I guess I would have to assume that the person cooking it probably went out for a smoke. I donāt know, but when it was delivered to the table, the server just popped the plates down in front of us and wouldnāt make eye contact and just walked away. The sandwiches werenāt like any club Iāve ever had before and my onion rings were burned to a crisp. I donāt even know how they thought it was acceptable to serve them. Suffice it said to say, I will never be going back . I absolutely went out of my way to go there to support them instead of going to Maple city diner where I always have a great meal. I will not make that mistake again. The only person to acknowledge us when we left was a lovely young lady sitting at the counter, eating her Lunch she said, thank you and Wish us a good day. The young gentleman never looked up. He was talking to an older lady at the counter couldnāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I were in town for his work and after trying to order delivery from two other local establishments (only to find out that for whatever reason that they couldn't/wouldn't deliver) we came across this place.
I have to admit that we were hesitant to order at first because a lot of the pictures reminded us of school cafeteria food. We are both so glad that we took the chance! My husband got the sirloin (he enjoyed it). However, the real star of the show was the Haddock Dinner.
We live in Wisconsin and know our way around a fish fry. I'm talking perch, bluegill, haddock, cod, and walleye. I can say without a doubt that this was THE BEST haddock either of us has ever had. The piece that we got was not only the largest piece we have ever been served (more that enough for me to share almost half of it with my husband), it was shear perfection in both flavor and texture. The breading was perfectly crisp. (Please keep in mind that this was a delivery order where fried food usually winds up arriving soggy). The fish itself tasted wonderful and was firm and flaky.
If we had this back home, it would be a regular staple of our dining out experience. We wish we were in town longer so we could try more of the menu.
Please, please, keep up the good work. We hope to be back sometime to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI finally got to try this place today! You can choose your own table, and each table has its own menu. Once you decide what you want to order, you go to the counter and place your order. I started with the BDF Philly, but then I saw an order of the fried chicken dinner coming out of the kitchen. Thatās when I decided to switch to that instead. Itās $16.50, which includes plenty of 4 pieces of fried chicken, macaroni salad, and a vegetable of the day (I had corn). You can also choose your own French fries (I got the fries and then upgraded it to poutine). It was probably the best fried chicken Iāve ever had in Vermont! The corn and macaroni salad were also really good. My other half ordered the Turkey Club (real turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, sweet onion, and mayo on a triple decker), served with home french fries ($12). She said it was really good too. I ordered the carrot cake ($4.99) for dessert, but my meal was so filling that I ended up bringing it home. If you like carrot cake, I would recommend it. Thereās plenty of indoor seating, but not much outdoor seating. Overall, it was a good experience and atmosphere. The owner was really nice and welcoming. She chatted with us for a couple of minutes,...
