We visited the small town St Albans, Vermont, for food and gas before heading back to Canada. We found this small restaurant, apparently a very local one. It was around 2pm and still with many customers. We ordered the sandwich combo with soup and choices of sandwiches. The server was very friendly and helpful. The sandwich was, exceptionally, delicious (maybe we're hungry). The soup was thick and filling up. Fully satisfied when leaving the restaurant and continued our journey home.

I don't regret trying it, but not worth returning. Meal came out to $25 pre tip which is steep for a diner. Bacon was sad, sausage was school cafeteria quality. Pancakes were spongy, not light and fluffy. Ordered my eggs over easy, and they were over medium. Above average diner coffee. Service was great and fast. Atmosphere was quaint and exactly what you would expect from a long standing local diner.

Nice little diner to get brunch. They serve breakfast all day. Pancakes are filling and the home fries are cooked perfect and amazing. The toast is nicely buttered. The staff is very friendly and they make you feel like your at home. Definitely worth stopping in to eat

Totally wasn't what I expected. I was referred by workmates and I was anticipating more.

It didn't satiate my hunger as much as it disappointed me.

They were nice. However, my experience wasn't savory or provocative enough to invoke a return visit for food or ambiance.

They did have an extensive menu...maybe I chose poorly. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt...and an additional star for still being open during this pandemic...

To be clear...I'm not from this area...so if this place is representative of the local cuisine...lol...then, please disregard my review. To support local businesses, please patronize them, to get good food...maybe utilize input from a discerning individual 😂...with a keen knowledge of local eateries.

....the guy who originally told me about the place was dressed head to toe in wooded camouflage...I didn't want to stereotype because me being a Black guy visiting a very small town, I understand all too well how stereotypes work...lol..that being said...he probably wasn't a "cuisine guy"...I'll probably not be as anxious for diner food moving forward 😳😳😳..or suggestions...

...nice...

If zero stars was allowed i'd put that! Will never go here again! I can promise that! Our lovely waitress ran out to our car tonight after we had dinner with my brother, sister in law and all of our kids. She proceeded to run her mouth to us about the tip that was left for her. Mind you our tip all together was fair. She then proceeded to swear at my brother and handed his money back(I didn't receive my tip back nor was either asked for) she then said the owner told her to go out to us and say something to us about the tip. This all took place in front of our children two babies and a four year old. My brother and his wife went in to talk to the owner and of course nothing was done and they defended her. I will never return! Very unprofessional oh and If you need a name her name was Brenda. I will NEVER return which is quite sad seeing how we all eat there frequently! Clearly more often then they deserve! Maple City will receive our business along with my families. What a joke. Truly disappointed and how dare she do that in front of our children and swear and throw money. Unbelievable...

I am actually boycotting the St Albans Diner after two very bad experiences. The fist time was when I came in for breakfast and ordered a breakfast burrito with potato. Now in most restaurants a breakfast burrito is large, and packed full. A meal by itself. Here, my burrito was literally 4-5” long, and 1 1/2-2” wide and just pathetic. The worst part was that because I added potato, my burrito cost me $13. I was completely shocked and wasn’t even full when I left. It was a baby burrito. My second bad experience happened two weeks later when I showed up at 7:45 for dinner on a Wednesday night. When I walked in, the door sign said open, but the staff were quick to tell me they were closed. They close at 8:00. In a time like this, and the economy is in the toilet, I would think businesses would want customers. I guess not here. We left and walked across the street to Maple City Diner. I haven’t returned to the St Albans Diner since and I don’t plan to. P.S. your potato home fries are double cooked and disgusting. You may want to alter...
