I recently visited this Tropical Smoothie Cafe location and had a mixed experience. While the Strawberry Daiquiri smoothie I ordered was absolutely delicious, the service I received from one of the female employees left much to be desired.
First, let me start by saying that the smoothie itself was fantastic. The Strawberry Daiquiri flavor was refreshing, perfectly blended, and met my expectations. It was the highlight of my visit, and I would definitely recommend it to others.
However, my positive impression was dampened by the unpleasant encounter I had with a female employee at the register. When I came in the restaurant there wasn’t anyone at the counter to greet me or take my order. The employee came to the register after a couple minutes but she was not friendly or smiling and just asked what I wanted. She had numerous facial piercings, which I don't typically have an issue with, but her attitude was less than pleasant. When I asked a simple question about their rewards program, she seemed annoyed and acted as if my inquiry was an inconvenience to her. When the smoothie was done another employee took the time to bring it to my table and was friendly and courteous in their interaction with me.
As a customer, I believe it is important to receive courteous and helpful service, regardless of the circumstances. It is unfortunate that my interaction with this particular employee was disappointing, as it left a negative impression of the overall experience.
Based on my encounter with the first employee, I don't think I will be returning to the Mall Drive location in the future. It's a shame because the quality of the smoothie itself was great, but customer service plays a significant role in shaping a customer's perception of a business.
I hope that Tropical Smoothie Cafe takes this feedback into consideration and addresses the issue with their employee. It's crucial to ensure that all customers feel welcome and valued when they visit their...
Read more*I want to say and make sure it is made clear that not all employees are unhelpful! There a cute young girl that I know who works here and she is always ready to help! I order from this location multiple times a month. I ordered on my app for a pickup. When I came to pick it up the doors were locked and there was a note in the door that said the inside was closed due to staff shortage, and that I would have to go through the drive thru. When I went around to the back there 5 other cars ahead of me. I waited in line my entire lunch break and when I finally got up to the front and asked why the inside was closed for pick ups, the man working the window told me that corporate told them they had to keep the doors closed and locked if there were only 2 people working! What?! If this true about shutting the doors, then it should have been closed if there aren’t enough people to staff it, or online orders should have been stopped. I told them then they should’ve at least made a way for people who were just picking up an order that was already placed, not need to wait in the drive thru to wait that long. All the people in front of me were placing orders. I was so frustrated because not only had I bought my lunch but also for two of my co workers. Needless to say, all three of us missed our lunch break because it took so long! The guy was not very compassionate and was snotty to me when he gave me my food. If I do come back it will definitely not be to...
Read moreThis location needs to have a house cleaning of employees... I’ve come 3x to this location and every single time the order is wrong. Not due to the order being difficult but due to the immature nature of the entire staff... every time I order the children who work there are chatting non-stop on their headsets and not remotely listening to the order. I know they aren’t listening because I have to repeat myself several times because someone is clearly talking into their ear piece saying who knows what. The location on Brigham road should get 5 stars for their excellent staff but the location in Lin’s parking lot should get shut down and re-opened with a full re-staffing. Not to mention when you walk in to order nobody has the decency of acknowledging you until they are completely done with what ever they are doing... this awkward unprofessional total disregard of the customer usually lasts upwards of 2-3 minutes as they finish their personal conversations...
