If I could give a zero. Crazy staff and not in a good way. Anyone who reads my reviews would offer that my experiences anywhere else have been very positive and I am a more than fair critique when it comes to service in the biz. I know from experience how difficult, exhausting waiting tables and trending bar jobs can be. Unfortunately I've experienced a bias with extreme emotion that was cascaded upon me at this particular establishment. I've always loved the VI, however with how cliquey the regulars have gotten I happened to be the recipient a verbal attack from a venom-spewing lynch mob that got me 86'd. I wasn't even in the joint when this circle of misfits happened upon me. I was in the parking lot minding my own business. (As a side note, not everyone was in on it. There are plenty, plenty, tons of good people that yet frequent the lounge & restaurant.)
I digress,
No thanks to one individual armed with vodka-saturated voice box of mass destruction, the clientele was showered with a barrage of untruths and misunderstood occurrences. The group-think, mob mentality overtook the well-hydrated attendees and they gathered up all the pitch forks and rope they could retrieve. Once they had a victim (yours truly) in their cross hairs they proceeded to conjure up scathing, liquor embellished stories they were unable to retract once impressing the rest of their newly created gang of lynchers. I was informed personally, from a primary source in attendance of the hugely fictional stories, created mostly from people whom had never even met me directly, that still haunt me nearly a year later. This entire event was an extreme case of slander and defamation of character that was entirely undeserved. Sometimes I wish my love of a small town outweighed my thirst for something more entertaining to move into this town. Something with which these degenerates might coccupy their minds. Something that might disuade them from taking up arms against the innocent based on conjecture. Something to halt their feelings of joy in slaughtering a lamb with crucifixion&-esque precision and meriting a similar injustice.
Listen I love the VI but Lisa and her cronies have done some serious damage by tainting this once beloved land-mark, watering-hole with a black eye. They've led her astray or at the very least lost grip of her reigns by Creating/Co-leading or at minimum, allowing this extremely unfair and hostile sac against someone who does not wish to take up arms in order to experience a little down home cooking, karaoke and friendly comradery.

Read moreUpdate: I took my granddaughter in for breakfast, and Alisha was working. She is just amazing, love her. The food was excellent and the whole place was clean and spotless. This is where the good ends, unfortunately. Between about 12:40ish and 1:00, I watched Alisha have to tell paying customers coming through the door, they were getting ready to close at 1:00 and turn them away. Out of all the people she had to turn away, only 2 took her up on the suggestion they could eat in the bar. SERIOUSLY? If the owners of a full service restaurant in a small town like this think that is a good idea, you need to think again. Pretty soon, people are not going to even bother to try to stop if they don't know whether your establishment is going to be open or not. As it cost me $45 for just the 2 of us to have a mid day meal with coffee (which is, by the way, the biggest thing that would keep me from coming back, TOO EXPENSIVE); I wonder how much money they turned away today? It could be a great restaurant, the food is great, the service is excellent, but the owners are the stopping point and that's too bad in every way. 🤔😥
I saw that Village Inn was under new management with a new menu, so I decided to give them one more try. I was pleasantly surprised! They have been remodeling and the place is quite different, the old dining room has 4 pool tables and the bar has new large screen tvs to transition to a Sports Bar. There was a plumber working in the restroom updating the toilets and he mentioned they would also be replacing the existing floors. Fresh paint throughout. We sat in the restaurant and Charmaine was our waitress. She was amazing and even showed us some of the dishes they offered as she was walking by with them, great marketing! The prices were excellent as well. Her service totally restored my faith in VI and I will be going back! Well done all...
Read moreWe have lived here 3 years and have never been here. Decided to take my mom here to eat because she just flew in from Michigan. We ordered our food and drinks, the waitress brought all of us our drinks and forgot to give my mom her tea packet with her hot water. My mom was confused and went up to ask for a lemonade instead and this waitress (I didn’t catch her name) gave my mom such a bad attitude and was very unprofessional. Slammed the cup and was annoyed that she had to do this, we will never be back to this place. How dare this lady treat people that way. If you don’t like your job or doing the job your paid for. Maybe it’s time to get a different job. She also forgot our dipping sauces and half the stuff that was supposed to be on our sandwiches was not on there. When we would ask for water she was not happy about it at all. Definitely needs new employees that will make people feel welcomed instead of being scared of asking ...
