We've visited this place a few times and always were pleased. But we took out of town guests on the Saturday after Thanksgiving at 2:00 pm and it failed. When we arrived, the restaurant was busy but not packed. We were told to seat ourselves (party of 4). The atmosphere is open, covered, and on the river. Drink orders came timely; the server was friendly and heplful throughout. Our experience was not his fault. The posted sign saying that the wait could be an hour to 1 1/2 hrs after placing orders was not comforting. A restaurant serving this kind of menu needs to expand the kitchen if they can't keep up with orders better. Yes, we waited over an hour for food. Our appetizer came with the lunches instead of ahead of them. 2 of the 4 orders were wrong. Our wait was not unique; eveyone was waiting like we did. The fries were cold; the peel and eat shrimp were overdone; a missing order of fries never came despite asurances it would. Raw oysters on the menu weren't available but grilled ones were (?). We may try here again in hopes that this was an outlier experience

Update: We returned today with a cable and lock for the bikes. Mr. Personality wasn't in. SUSAN was. Delightful, professional, fun and courteous. They were busy and she kept us updated on our meals. The grouper sandwich (I don't think it was grouper) was great. Some sort of flaky white fish. They have imitation grouper too. We asked for the real thing. At any rate it was delicious. Let me preface this by saying we have very expensive road bikes and didn't bring a cable and lock to secure them. We walked into what I thought was an empty barn. Maybe 3 tables were in use. We thought we might be able to sit in the corner and lean them against the wall. No, you can't. Bring a chain if you like your bike. I can accept, I'm sorry, we can't allow bikes in the dining area. The issue is we were confronted by a rude, sarcastic a-hole employees with a caustic personality that essentially told us to get out and don't bother coming back. Go across the street. Slow but friendly staff and you can dine with your bike.

There's so much to say about this restaurant, but let me start with the food. Excellent, you must try the blackened fish sandwich! The service was wonderful, and the day that we went, it was not very busy. we were there before Memorial Day weekend, so that explains it. The staff was so kind to a special need that I had, and for that, I am truly grateful. I created a time capsule for my mom, who passed away a couple of years ago. She was definitely a true Floridian! Her and I came here on a day trip from the Wilderness school (Anneewakee), where I was back in 1985. I left a lot of good memories there for the restaurant to look over. I'm sure my Mom would love to sit there and enjoy their great food and the wonderful people who took care of us. Just one thing I forgot to pick up a business card to add to my collection..... if you're from the restaurant and you're reading this, I would be more than glad to pay you to send me a business card and one of those great sandwiches. Absolute worst dining experience ever. We were warned after our drink order was finally taken that it could be up to a 2 hour wait. We sat ourselves around 5:30 PM, Drink order was taken around 6PM. Ordered 3 appetizers. Never received one & found out from a server who was not our server they ran out of one of them. Told her we had not seen our server since she delivered the drinks, which were wrong & had to be corrected; however, our server was not to be found so someone else took our drink order & then our server brought them. Our server went missing several times. At 8PM, when we had another server find our server AGAIN, we told her the max 2 hour time span had elapsed & wanted to know if or when our food would be out. She stumbled through an explanation & said it would be out in 15 minutes tops. 25 minutes later I had to go find her & ask about it. She was standing at the counter looking at receipts. Finally get our food. Everything but the vegetables was cold. My order was wrong. My son’s Cuban sandwich was a joke, not enough for a 12 year old, much less a grown man. It was tiny and squished. Smallest potato salad portion I had ever seen, and not of good quality. Before we got our food, we were asked if we still wanted our food by our server & another who also promised to get our server or help our table but also did not follow through. After eating, I then had to go to the counter to get our ticket bc I could not wait until she decided to come back to our table. Waited at the counter 10 minutes. She did discount our ticket after I told her the I the other server said she would. Still ended up paying over $80 for a 2.5+hour wait and food that was not good. Also, my husband asked to speak to the owner & was told he wasn’t there. Asked how to reach him and was told she couldn’t give out that information. This was the 2nd server who bashed our server but didn’t follow through on her offer to help either. Worst service ever,...

I have frequented this place off and on throughout the years as a local. I've never really had a phenomenal experience, but usually things turn out ok. Today, was not even ok for us. We were in around 3pm, well after the lunch crowd. We did receive prompt service which was nice, usually that's not the case. My biggest issue today was the FLIES. I understand it's an outside establishment and living around the area I am aware of flies being an issue this time if year but, when you have to combat swarms of them while you're trying to eat, it's just too much. I would highly suggest somebody invest in some fly bait or something. These were not yellow flies, they were regular flies. It is just super gross to have them swarming all over your food and drinks, not to mention our six week old baby. Another thing, please clean the high chairs, they are disgusting. My son is too young to sit in one, but I'd grabbed one to put the carseat on and YUCK. Our food was subpar. Most of the food for my party was barely warm. I ordered a blackened scallop basket. For $16.99 I expected to at least be full after eating. Not the case. The basket should have been no more than $10-$12 for what I was given. My fries were limp and luke warm. Scallops were a mix of warm and cold...not sure how that happens, but that's what I was given.

I honestly can't recommend this place to eat at. Multiple health code violations from what I experienced. If you're looking for a place go gather with friends and drink while dancing to live music, this place is great on weekends. Other than...

So our experience was “good” but it was short lived. We sat our selves and our waitress greeted us promptly, full of smiles and told us we came at a good time because the rush just left. Awesome. We gave her our drink orders and she came back quickly to deliver them. We asked what was good and what she recommended, seeing as this was our first time here. Well our good experience ended there. She came to get our order about 20 minutes later. So we ordered our appetizer and entrees (sandwiches) at the same time. Well our app comes out with no crackers so we just sat there waiting for any waitress to come by, or walk by. Eventually our waitress comes back and notices we don’t have crackers to eat with our appetizer, seeing as it was fish dip. So I’m not eating it with a fork, because I didn’t have that either. We also asked for a sweet tea refill. We get crackers and forks that were delivered by someone else and we’ve yet to receive the sweet tea. About 10 minutes later we get said sweet tea. By this time our food comes out. By far the saddest grouper sandwich I’ve ever seen and the filet was not worth the bun it came on. Very disappointing. And the shrimp Po boy was sub par. We were one of maybe 7 tables with at least 3 servers. I’ve been a server for 10 years so I’m not understanding how service could be so bad and so slow. Remedial training is definitely recommended for the servers and maybe the chefs. I can’t imaging how service is during a rush. But this is definitely not a place I’ll be...
