Living in California for over 30 years. Eating Hispanic/Mexican food for many years and dining at restaurants and in the homes of many. I have a good sense of what is what when it comes to dining in establishments like this. I tried to let the manager...maybe even owner know that the enchilada sauce seemed salty...no it WAS salty! When nicely letting the manager know after paying my bill that I wasn't complaining, I was just trying to let him know that the sauce was salty. He didn't want to hear the help or even try the sauce to see...he just instantly said they sell 100s a day... which maybe at those times the sauce isn't salty. But as he was saying this he was aggressive in his tone and slapped my shoulder twice in the sense of how an abuser does to an abusee to try and convince them that they are wrong and he is correct. The service was fabulous, the tacos were delicious, and the meat and other ingredients in the enchiladas were delicious... But the lack of respect and regard for a customer and their personal space goes above and beyond what I was served and this is why you get two star with an explanation. I hope you taste your sauce, or have your Mother taste it and tell you to ease up on...

Food - This is now my favorite Mexican restaurant besides one other place that was much higher end and way pricier over in Missouri. I've had La Carreta twice now and both times I was genuinely impressed. Good prices, very good food with quite generous proportions, and a very sizable menu that leaves me very indecisive. I got the Veggie Quesadillas (not a vegetarian, just was in the mood for it) and my wife got the Quesadillas Campechanas. The menu for mine didn't mention cucumber came in it and I normally hate cucumbers, but I absolutely loved everything I got and so did my wife.
Afterwards we ordered some fried ice cream and that was fantastic. I'm not a huge fan of sweets usually but this was pretty special. We both had plenty of our main course leftover to take home but we were unable to finish the ice cream and didn't trust it on the ride home but we were sad to let it go.
We were very happy with La Carreta and will be returning as regularly as...

I walked to the lake just to find that my messy burrito came with no silverware or napkins. So I walked back for that. They handed me packaged silverware, but instead of giving me a stack of napkins, the worker said that the package came with a napkin.
I didn’t even waste the time to argue. Was just dumbfounded that he thought a small single napkin was enough for this meal.
As far as the flavor. Absolutely bland. Even the salsa verde I added had no flavor. The only item that I could taste was the refried beans in the burrito. That was more wild than getting no napkins. My entire adventure was just disappointing. A...
