Oak and Anchor Grill — Restaurant in Salem Township

Looked forward to coming in for a burger as I follow your owner on social media. We came in for lunch on a Friday and it had a good number of patrons. Place is clean and nice looking. Wife ordered the breakfast burger and I ordered the black and blue burger. Both ordered medium cook on both and fresh cut fries. We could have gotten waffle fries but you gotta go with fresh cut. Wait time was totally reasonable. Burgers both looked good once they came out and fries were excellent. Seasoned to perfection. Upon digging in, both burgers were well done. Like no pink. Also they were just warm like they’ve been sitting too long. The beef was seasoned well and was still juicy. Upon further review I noticed I received the wrong burger. Got the bourbon blue or whatever it’s called rather than the black and blue. It was an honest mistake by the kitchen. The waitress was accommodating and understanding. They got me the right burger and to make up let me keep the wrong burger and comped the sodas we ordered. The funny thing the second burger that came out I’m sure as a rush because of the mix up was HOT and…medium. We don’t live in the area so traveled a good distance to visit while on vacation. We’ll come back another time and I hope to have a five star experience even though I’d give you a 4.25 now if I could...

Tonight Cynthia, my wife, and I headed out to the Oak and Anchor. We have been meaning to go for a while, and tonight was the night. When we got there we were surprised that there was a wait to be seated. That's a good sign. The hostess told us that it would be 25 minutes or so. We saw some friends and got to talking and moments later we were seated. I didn't check the watch, but I doubt it was even a 10 minute wait. Once seated we got our drinks and within a few minutes we had ordered. I chose the Western Smash Burger (what the heck is a smash burger anyway) with waffle cut fries. My wife had the Alfredo with Chicken and a salad. Cynthia said her meal was great. My Smash Burger was very good, the waffle cut fries were excellent. My wife and I decided to try this restaurant while on vacation. We were seated at the breakfast bar as they were pretty busy. The waitress was very friendly and answered our menu questions. Mike the owner came out and chatted with us for a good while. He is super nice and you can tell he cares about the quality of his food. I had the smash burger with jalapeños, peanut butter, bacon and cheese. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. My wife had a chicken sandwich and it was very good.
