On my way up Catawba Mountain to look at some property, I saw this coffee house conveniently placed at the intersection in the Hanging Rock area. I decided I would stop there on my way back if they were still open. Thankfully, my appointment was early, so when I came back through Hanging Rock, Sycamore Station was open! Little did I know it was so much more than a coffee house. It truly exceeded my expectations. It has a menu with a variety of homemade items from brunch to lunch, coffees & drinks from lattes, espresso, and more! The environment is very peaceful, cheerful , and more. The owners Nancy and Maggie we're absolutely fabulous hosts! They sell a variety of high-end, handmade items that are either locally made by various artisans, from paintings to sculptures to ceramics to ornaments for your Christmas tree. It really has a wonderful variety of things. I got me a dirty chai latte and cranberry orange scone, and I was there for almost 2 hours just relaxing and enjoying the vibe. Everyone there was so pleasant. I love supporting local businesses♡ Especially when they, in turn, love what they do and their customers too!♡ They also have a variety of events every month. If you like to hike, bike, stroll, yoga, & more, do stop by. I promise you will not be disappointed. Thank...
Read moreSo glad to see that this place exists. It’s in an incredible location to stop before or after one of the many great spots to hike and/or bike in the area. It’s directly on the way home to/from Blacksburg if I go the back way to avoid some of I-81. It’s evident plenty of care and consideration went into the plan (retail/community/dining space) and the build out of the space that is incredibly welcoming. The owners are super nice with a wonderful menu that matches the people and the vibe. Planning to make this a regular stop when I’m through the area. A must stop when you find yourself in or around the area when you need a coffee, sandwich,...
Read moreMy husband surprised me with a lunch date here, and it was such a great choice! You can eat inside the bright, welcoming dining area or outside at the picnic tables. There’s even a playset for kids and the Hanging Rock Battlefield Trail nearby.
We had the blueberry grilled cheese and the turkey apple cheddar (both on sourdough) with chips and salsa. I got a smoothie, and my husband had an iced coffee. Everything was fresh, delicious, and filling.
They also have a great retail section with locally made goods like cards, art, soaps, and more. Definitely worth a visit to support this...
