Denny's — Restaurant in Salinas

So of course I picked this one when I saw it on Google maps on my trip! So it wasn't too bad inside restaurants was ok The lady greeted us at the front took us to our table everything seemed fine we ordered off the menu of course a lot of that big bacon stuff going on at Denny's I can tell so my wife got breakfasts with bacon and this is where it falls so our waitress just drops off our food and I'm surprised the waitress didn't notice the bacon was totally burnt to a crisp like that bad and she just dropped the plates down and took off and it took a long while before we can get her to come back or anyone to get us some freshly cooked bacon and take away the old burnt bacon and when she finally saw it at our table she act like she was shocked I'm thinking if she would have saw it to begin with she wouldn't have been shocked she would have said hey there's something wrong with your bacon let me get you another bacon but that's the only issue we came across is just the food was burnt and the service! It was just ok like you figure somebody would've notice something and bring it to your table and say if you like your bacon like this! If so I'll leave it If not I'll get you some new bacon that would have been the right thing to do besides...

Where do I start? Well, I had not been there for over nine years (since I had moved to Gonzales, then the North side) and since then I've been here twice in less than a month and I'll most likely be going at least once a week for lunch or early dinner... As long as I get the same waitresses. One seems to be the manager there and she is like a mom to all the customers. Super sweet, down to earth, and talks to you like family. Awesome lady (don't remember her name). Then there is the waitress that has tended me these two times... She is A...MA...ZING. Karen,yes, that's her real name, is even sweeter than the manager. She's super funny, easy-going, sympathetic, makes conversation... I just love her personality. I know her name is Karen, but she's the complete opposite of the meaning of a Karen. Yeah, my new favorite place to eat. Oh yeah, the food is not bad, but I'm only going to keep going there for the great service... And because they...

Like many others, I wish I would've read the reviews first and saved myself from the idiocy the Sat myself at the counter for about 30 silent minutes since there was no hostess. After the only waitress said she'd be right with me me, 20 minutes later, I got a menu. Then she helped someone who came in after me. 10 minutes after that, I finally got a glass of water. 15 minutes after that she took my order. Ten minutes after that she told me they don't serve T Bone and shrimp because of a new menu. Denny's in this town is just not the place to be it seems. Especially if you're Caucasian. I tried the other one closer to the pilot truck stop and they told me they closed for an hour while the carpets got vacuumed. I should've just stayed there and YouTubed for an hour. Won't be back to either.
