Saltillo Tortilleria — Restaurant in Salinas

I will be looking into how to file a complaint with the business bureau in Salinas against this establishment. This is the second time my partner goes in to buy burritos and is met with what I can only describe as discrimination.

He does not know Spanish but always tries his best to use Spanish to communicate with the girls who work here because they tell him the don’t know English. When ordering he asked for “2 carnitas burritos.” The girls there started laughing at him as if they didn’t understand what he said. The customer in front of him had left because they did the same thing to him.

I understand not speaking English but to laugh at a customer who is trying to communicate with you and acting as if you don’t understand what they are saying when they attempt to speak Spanish is ridiculous and bad for business. I’m sure the owner won’t appreciate the fact that these girls are causing the business to lose customers due to their ignorance and immaturity.

My experiences have been mixed here. I've been here twice. I normally order pork belly chicharones with side orders of tortillas, salsa (they offer several different types), guacamole, beans, rice.

The chicharones first visit, great. Service was mixed. Questionable to odd. The rest of my food was also great.

Second visit, chicharones not so great. They were off. They weren't bad. Just not as good. The rest of my order, good. Service was ok. They took care of business good.
