Sherry’s Farmhouse Kitchen – Southern Hospitality Served Up Right
Tucked away like a good biscuit recipe, Sherry’s Farmhouse Kitchen serves up classic country fare in a setting that feels like Grandma’s dining room—if Grandma kept her floors spotless and her tea syrupy-sweet.
The place was clean and inviting, with a down-home charm that matched the name right down to the rustic décor and friendly smiles. I kicked things off with a generous dinner salad—simple, fresh, and piled high enough to remind you it is a farmhouse kitchen, after all.
My main dish was the ground sirloin, better known to most folks as a hamburger steak, served alongside a baked potato. The food came out quicker than I expected, but let me tell you—I should’ve hollered “well-done” when I ordered. That steak was still mooing at me when I sliced in. But credit where it’s due: my waitress caught the look on my face faster than a mama catches a kid sneakin’ a cookie, and she had a fresh, fully-cooked plate on the table in no time flat.
The second helping was worth the wait—tender, savory, and smothered in rich brown gravy and sweet grilled onions. Toss in a warm, fluffy dinner roll that nearly took up half the plate, and I was in comfort food heaven.
Service was spot-on throughout, with drink refills coming like clockwork. Just a heads-up, though—if you order the sweet tea, you better brace yourself. It’s got enough sugar to jump-start a tractor.
At $15.99 for salad, entrée, drink, and a roll big enough to call dessert, I’d say the value’s as good as the gravy.
If you’re looking for a clean, honest-to-goodness Southern meal with heart, Sherry’s Farmhouse Kitchen is worth pulling off the road for. Just remember to say “well-done”—unless you like your steak...
Read moreUsed to be our "Go to" place. Service AND food were top notch. Unfortunately One time I ordered an Omelet to go, being that I've recently developed an intolerance to Gluten & it's difficult finding appetizing food, I received a sausage, egg & cheese omelette when I ordered the western. The very next time, we went with a group of out of towners from our business. Every order was messed up. MY western omelette ordered without onions, came with onions. The third chance, we returned for mother's day. We were firmly educated by our waitress that they close @ 6 & only have one cook on hand!! It was THEN 4:00. After we placed our order, 2 groups that came in the door with us received received their orders, are & left & we still were waiting to be served. Upon inquiring with our waitress, we were again, firmly educated that they close at 6 & only have one cook!! I was lost on the closing at 6. We arrived at 4!! We FINALLY received our food. Cold!! But I hadn't received my gravy to put on my food. We waited & waited for her to return, to refill drinks, check on us, but to no avail. She brought our check & asked if we wanted "to go" boxes. To which we responded yes! AND THE GRAVY that was never brought. We didn't eat our food. A complaint was left with the cashier. But we haven't heard anything. Three chances in a row, Three strikes in a row. I'm sad to say, we won't be giving a fourth. It's so hard having quality places to get good country style breakfast food local. I'm sad This place has...
Read moreTried a new place and I was disappointed. My food was edible but everything was cold. My salad came out with the rest of my meal instead of before. My husband said that his bacon and sausage were not done all the way so he did not eat it. His tea was also sour and his biscuits were burned and my chicken fried steak was a little over done. I just couldn’t get past everything being so cold. My grandson never got his jello that came with his meal. My husband did say that his pancakes were very good. I will say that my tea was very good and was pleasantly surprised about it as a lot of places the tea tends to sour. We heard workers saying that the boss was not in today so maybe that was why we had issues since my step daughter said she eats there frequently and she usually has no complaints and says that the rest of the time the food is very good. For what we received I did not feel like it was worth the money we paid. We had 3 meals, 1 kids meal and 3 cinnamon rolls and it totaled $90. I still can’t figure out the price because it shouldn’t have been more than $20 per person. I wouldn’t mind paying that if the place was exceptional but this place just wasn’t. I doubt we will eat there again. Just...
