Since I got back from Mexico I've been trying to find the best al pastor tacos in the valley. I haven't tried everything but I don't think I need to. Chunga's is by far the best I've ever had! I'm telling you, their tacos are very nearly a spiritual experience! I was in love from the first bite. After I sent a picture to my husband he decided to go there as well. The first thing he said to me about it was "I am in heaven!" One of my coworkers ordered some tacos from there yesterday with me and she tried the spicy chicken tacos first. She was impressed right from the start. Then she had an al pastor taco and she literally said "these are so good I think I'm going to cry!" They've other food that looks pretty great but I don't know if I'll ever try it, the tacos were just too great! If you like al pastor I very highly recommend this place. The people at Chunga's are...
Read moreI heard of chungas just like 7 weeks ago and I gotta say I was a bit of a skeptic. The name gave me the impression of a taco bell kinda place. I only tried it cause someone told me it was the best al pastor place. I could not believe it, once you tried Mexican food in Los Angeles I never tried that kind of Mexican in Utah. They either are too bland or full of fat or hardly any meat or simply tastes nasty. When I tried this place I was in love 😍😍 if you've been disappointed like me, you gotta try this place! Seems like they clean up the fat from the meat which is rare in Utah. Sure sometimes they take long but hey! at least you know its fresh and the taste is worth the wait! Some of these reviews complain of the wait?? That's lame! I say fui to you complainers! Come here you will love it! I...
Read moreIt doesn't look like much from the outside (both locations look a bit run down) but the food is fresh and so delicious, it is authentic Mexican food that tastes like it was made in a kitchen (not like preservatives and fast food etc.) They also have never messed up my order when I ask for special instructions which is so very nice to experience. The staff is kind too. The fresh water drinks they have are a MUST try (especially the mango flavor). I like how they put your food in aluminum to-go plates instead of Styrofoam and that they bring the food out to you instead of putting it on the counter and yelling out your name or order; the fact that they make the extra effort to go hand you the food directly is nice as well. Definitely an under appreciated restaurant that deserves...
