Delicious, clean, and friendly. This is one of the gems in Salt Lake City. Authentic Mexican Food, this restaurant serves, the Famous "Taco al Pastor" seasoned pork meat like no other, their burritos, huaraches, pambazos, gorditas, tacos and all other food is made just like it would be in Mexico City. Their chipotle salsa is one of the best I have tasted. You cant go wrong coming to this restaurant, their waitresses and servers are friendly and willing to make sure you have a great experience. I love that the have the playing traditional music that makes you feel like you are dining in a restaurant in el Zocalo, or near Tepito. Prices are very affordable, and if you show the picture of the card you get your first meal for only $6.00 dlls. Go experience the real Mexican taste of "Chungas"

Chunga's has two locations. We went to the location on redwood. They didn't have a lot of seating so we decided to take our meal to go. We read reviews that recommended ordering over the phone instead of online. So that is what we did and it was great! They had our meal ready for us right on time! We actually loved the prices. For a meal with two tacos, rice, beans and a drink it was $8. Very affordable! They had a simple menu, with all of the options you would want from a Mexican restaurant. We didn't love our food. We might have ordered at the wrong location, or come on a bad day but we felt the meat was dry, and the rice and beans were just okay. We were a little underwhelmed by our experience.

Had to come back and update my score to 3 which in a normal 10 star rating system, this place would be a 6.5. Anyhow, the reason for the markdown is how damn salty their sauces are. Insanely salty. —————- Love Chungas. We are moving into the building next door and I will likely be coming here a lot. Chicken Enchiladas are really good. Green sauce is toooo salty. I’d prefer refried beens over black beans which is what they serve and sometimes have a burnt taste but overall, Chungas is very good and still relatively cheap. The soda machine is usually out of order which is a probably a good thing.

Out of this world customer service! The gentleman with the security hat who was working the front was exception really out of this world with the service and managing the traffic. Ample parking in the back and the food was so great. The chips were especially awesome the different sauces 4 different ones and great guacamole impressed me. The quesadillas were great as well. The grape soda drink wasn’t awesome I think it was less mainstream.
