Rose Canyon Deli — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

Felt overpriced. First time trying this place and all the menu photos were from 2 years ago so I didn't know what to expect. Saw the daily specials with the mention of taco salad including a drink. They had a paper taped to the front of the glass case saying "taco salad chicken or beef" and I was like heck yeah a taco salad sounds nice. Ordered the chicken one to go, grabbed a drink and a lady helped me at the register.

The total gave me a pause but it's my first time there I figured I misread something. I still tip of course because my mama didn't raise a heathen. It was only like 2-something. But the total came to 18.27 even if I was a tipless heathen 16 still would have felt like a bit much. To add input to injury the salad was honestly kinda small... and like, just ok for a taco salad.

After looking over the picture of the menu I took I guess she charged me the large drink price on top of the special? Maybe my drink selection wasn't the type included??? I honestly didn't notice the fountain drink dispenser until i was on my way out. I just wish she said something about the drink because now im left feeling disappointed and dissatisfied. Could have gotten two slightly better meals someplace else at that pricepoint. :/ maybe I'll go again another day and just get...

My first time was today. Coworkers said it's good and just right across the street. I have a break for lunch not much time so. When I went in there was 6 people in line, I was thinking I could be late. But a gal that worked there asked people if they was getting the special, since I've never been there I thought if they couldn't make their special tasty I probably won't come back. So I got the special French Dip. It was $9.79 with tax, came with soda and chips. With French dip I dunk drench and bite, I saw the lil cup they give for dipping and didn't think there's enough. Well after just eating the sandwich and dipping I was full. I haven't touched the chips or drink. I was hungry so I didn't want to fill up on the soda. They didn't have a menu up but I heard the day before they had customers out the door. I will go back and try something else until I tried probably sandwich.
