My daughter in law wanted to support a local business and purchased 6 cupcakes and a large decorated chocolate chip cookie to celebrate my grandson's birthday today. My grandson opened the cupcakes, grabbed one out, licked the frosting and put it down without eating anymore. When we asked him if it was good he said no, it didn't taste good. My DIL and I looked at each other because we thought he was just being picky, so tasted the frosting and it was terrible. It tasted like stale shortening. It really didn't even have another flavor, just stale and gross. Trying to make the best of the situation, we cut the top off so we could eat the cake part and they tasted just okay but they were very dry. They all went in the trash. Then we cut into the cookie. My grandson said that frosting tasted bad too, so we scraped it off. The cookie was just okay. It was supposed to be chocolate chip but it tasted more like a sugar cookie with a few chocolate chips in it. It's especially disappointing for this to happen at a child's party. 100% do...
