This restaurant was amazing! I wish I had two stomachs so I could eat more. I ordered the grilled Mahi Mahi, with green beans and some rice. Not a single piece of the dish was in any way mediocre. The flavor from the fish, it didnt even need any tartar sauce. It could be eaten solo with every moist flakey bite of fish. Even the green beans weren't some lame canned squishy bland mess. They were actually seasoned well, I can't even tell with what, butter maybe, but not just s&p. The rice! It had tomato onion, peppers, it was perfectly fully cooked, textural just the tiniest kick of spicy.. Nothing dry about this rice. I was so impressed I ordered banana pudding for dessert, which to my delight, is made fresh. The bananas must have been freshly sliced they were so firm. There was even tiny pecans on top. My husband ordered the #10 plate. The fish and shrimp were "cooked perfectly", the chicken strips were cooked a tidge over, not inedible. As far as service, very attentive, checked on us a couple times, and was very helpful. The owner gave us a little bit of culture facts about the area and his restaurant business. I joked he should pay the cook more, and he said, "I am the cook."! Amazing! This place doesn't look like much on the outside (at 3oclock on a Saturday), but if you give it a try, you will be looking forward to the next time you can come! We stayed here about an hour, and the place started filling up as we left our new late lunch place. Very respectful family atmosphere. The owner insisted he be known for being able to feed your family for a reasonable price. And for the joy we received, I would have paid way more for the care, quality, and value of this type of food...
Read moreMy mother and I visited this mom and pop seafood place thinking we would be eating fresh fish…however, it was quite the opposite. The customer service was great but the food was absolutely DISGUSTING. It took about 5 minutes for our food to come out once we were seated, which says a lot about the freshness of the seafood. The waitress brought us the 2 fish meal with rice and a dry crusty piece of white bread and shrimp that tasted like they bought it from Walmart and stored it in their freezer for 6 months before serving it to us. The fish was dry and looked like that microwaveable crap in the freezer aisle. Please do not eat here. It was dirty and the food was terrible. I didn’t even touch the rice it looked so nasty. It is not fresh food. It is clearly refrigerated food from Walmart or something. I was truly disappointed and bewildered at how many ppl lied and gave this place a good rating. Nice people, terrible food. If the owners read this, you can do so much better. You are disgracing San Antonio, Texas with microwaveable seafood on a paper plate. DO NOT EAT HERE! You will be disappointed and leave sick to your stomach. People, please stop lying about this place. It is hands down the worst seafood I’ve ever eaten in my life. Have some pride in the quality of food you serve people that are paying your bills and try improving the presentation. And…paper plates?! Come on. SMH. I will never set foot in this place again. DO...
Read moreRude employees, owner tries to intimidate customers who question the pricing by walking out of his little restaurant with a gun at his hip and being rude. Considering the attitude he and his employees have I can see why he feels he needs one. There are menus posted online everywhere but when you order their prices are way more expensive. Food is not even worth it. I do not recommend this place based on the attitudes of the people working there alone. Even people I talked to in the parking lot while waiting for my $70 fish agreed that they are rude. I don’t know how this place has managed to stay in business as long as it has. You’re money is better spent elsewhere. I am sure when they see this review they will have some rude sarcastic remark which will prove my point...
