Finally conquering my case of writer's block, one day I will finish that audiobook, I decided to take a stroll down memory lane to my old stomping grounds in sunny San Antonio. And who better to spend time with than my loyal companions, my sister corgies? These adorable yet clueless pups are always there for me, even if they can't quite grasp the concept of fetch. Unfortunately, the scorching Texas heat put a damper on our outdoor activities, so we opted for a lunch outing instead. And boy, did we hit the jackpot with Eddies Taco House Bar & Grill. This place had been a tantalizing mirage on my previous visits, but I finally decided to take the plunge this time. As we approached the restaurant, the mouthwatering scent of Tex-Mex cuisine beckoned us in. If I had the ability to magically float towards delicious food like in a cartoon, you better believe I would have been airborne. We were greeted by a warm hostess who promptly seated us and informed us of the happy hour specials. Naturally, I couldn't resist ordering margaritas for the whole table. Perusing the menu, I settled on the Eddies deluxe plate, while my dining companions opted for the Eddies special and the chicken fajitas. When our meals arrived, we were floored by the generous portion sizes. I spent the next hour or two happily devouring scrumptious food, sipping on margaritas, and basking in the delightful company. It was a meal to remember, and I already can't wait for my next San Antonio adventure. Cheers to many more visits to Eddies in the future!

**Update** Been back 3 more times, to get the Thursday Throwback Special. You cant beat the $5.99 deal. I've ordered 3 plates to go one day, ate 1 at the restaurant for lunch 1 day, and one for dinner most recently. My dinner visit I was also given tortilla chips and salsa, and that combined with the plate was more food than I could eat for just $6. Absolutely amazing for the price. Service has been good on every visit, even when it was super busy at dinner time. $5.99 2 enchiladas, rice, beans, small steak, tortillas, & drink. (Thurs Only) If you haven't tried the Throwback Special, you have to stop by on a Thursday, this might be the best deal in town. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tried Eddies for the first time. Had heard lots of good things about it. For my first time I ordered the Mexican plate. My enchiladas were good, some of the better ones I've had, but a bit lacking flavor wise. Id put them in the top 10 locally, but probably nearer to #10.. The charro beans were good, the tamale was below average and the crispy taco was decent. Prices were decent, portions were good, but with no shortage of Mexican places It didn't stand out on any of the items I had. I went between lunch and dinner on a weekend and there weren't many specials. I would probably return during the week for one of the specials, like the enchiladas and steak.

My cousin's son always talks about Eddie's tacos ever since he was very young. I got the chance to join them for lunch after a soccer game. I am very satisfied with the experience. 1st delicious food I ordered the Street Taco plate most restaurants in the area offer for small corn tortilla tacos display came with six and it had an overabundance of meat I was very happy and I was very satisfied with the sauteed onions and fire roasted jalapeno and also the availability of chopped onions and cilantro. 2nd my cousin's all ordered different items every plate came out looking delicious especially my kid cousin who just finished up his soccer game he got the Ethan special his plate or I should say plates arrived at the table and we were pleased with the amount of food and to go plate worth of food. There was small things that I'm sure can be improved on like the lemons that were uniform in cut, and adding to ask for a kids menu since one was not provided and the kids menu is not on the main menu. But those things are small and never bother me in fact they gave me something to highlight I was always told, one should leave room for improvement, that is always a good thing.

Update: Marcella horrible server isn't there anymore and all the other staff has made us feel welcome. Didn't see her again after I posted the original review. 🤷🏼‍♀️ We go here weekly, Wednesday for kids eat free or Thursday for the $5.99 enchiladas & steak plate or 3-6pm for appetizers and house margaritas. One of my favorite plates is 2 chicken chalupas (no beans or rice), I add guacamole and for $7.99 I can only eat one..

Skip the tamales 🥴🫣🤢

Super reasonable prices. First 2 servers over 4 visits never brought us chips and salsa. First time a man then we had Marcella we had 3 times in a row. At 8:35pm she was mad we were there and said kitchen closed in 15 minutes (they close at 9pm, & people came in after us) next time at 8:28pm she was mad, said kitchen closed in 15 minutes... Came at 8:20pm, she was still mad and the kitchen closed in 20 minutes, whatever... Each and every time we ordered quickly, ate quickly and were gone before other patrons. She didn't bring us chips and salsa, didn't refill our drinks... Basically did nothing and we still tipped 15% because as long as you don't purposely spill food on me I tip 15%. Servers work hard and don't get paid a living wage... But servers like Marcella don't deserve to have a job. Finally last visit just asked to not sit in her section. Our server Jesse got us chips & salsa, he was pleasant, refilled drinks and was nice. Food was delicious 🤤😋 like usual. The yummy food and good prices got us coming back and now with good service we will happily just...
