Had a craving for a hot fudge Sunday and a family member suggested Freddy's. The custard is very tasty and comparable to Dairy Queen ice cream in richness and flavor but the service was less than exemplary. I ordered extra fudge (at the cost of nearly $1) and it was presented to me with about a tablespoon of fudge.
I went to the counter and asked if I could get more fudge and the manager snatched it out of my hand, went to the pump and slammed his hand on the plunger about 5 times before sliding it onto the counter in front of me. No "Thank you" or not even a "Here ya go, Karen!" Just the back of him as he walked away. During that time, he yelled at the nice young man who ran the cash register and has walked over to address my concern to "Just go clean the tables." There were about 3 or 4 other tables occupied at the time.
While I appreciate the conscientious effort to maintain a clean environment during the pandemic, I was incredibly put off by the treatment of this nice kid. Also, the smell of bleach was incredibly overpowering but at least I know they work hard to keep tables sanitized for the next customer.
Overall, I can't say the sundae, which was delicious with the extra fudge, is enough to make me come back but I may if I'm ever having another craving. However, I would advise against any teenager who wants a job to seek employment there if they are treated with the disdain and condescension that I witnessed. Im willing to acknowledge they may have just gotten over a large rush (it was about 8:30 or 9:00pm) and decompressing but that is really no reason for the attitude to me or...
Read moreIt's been several years since I've been to Freddy's. The last time was for a fundraiser. As I understand, they still have them where the charity proceeds is 20% of the sales.
Tonight, I was wanting to have their steakburger. I had the single with perfectly caramelized grilled onions, pickles, lettuce and tomatoes. The shoe-string style fries were fresh and crispy. There were so much fries I couldn't finish it all and I didn't have room for dessert. The combo came with a medium drink. I didn't give 5 stars because I didn't get to try the dessert.
While I was eating, one of the photos on the wall caught my eye. I went up to look after eating and realized why it got me looking. Freddy is standing in front of the famous monument of Douglas MacArthur in the Philippines when he said, "I shall return." Since I'm originally from the Philippines, this stood out. Please read the caption on the photo with Freddy. Very interesting tidbit about his service.
May just have to come back for a...
Read moreOh man, where to even start..you know what they say, you only leave reviews if you had a terrible experience but rarely when you have a good one.
It was my first time going to Freddy's, and I'll say this: I wasn't disappointed. The burgers were fantastic, but what left an impression on me was how amazing the customer service is. As soon as I walked in Roy greeted me with a warm welcome, with Karen greeting me shortly after. They took amazing care of me, and as a fellow restaurant worker I can appreciate great customer service. I didn't have to wait and beg for service (I'm looking at you, McDonald's), and Roy gave me some tasty recommendations.
I'll definitely be coming back to Freddy's, specifically this location because although I'm sure the burgers are all great at all the locations I know I'll be able to count on the team here to take care of me.
This review is mainly about Roy..keep doing what you're doing boss, we need more...
