I tried the barbacoa for the first time a week ago and decided to come back. I ordered the special and substituted the corn with flour. When I got home the hot sauce wasn't in the bag and the flour tortillas were not in the bag. I called back to say what happened at first got the run around about what happened then was given to Cindy she agreed to replace the order for coming back and explained that they are used to the customers grabbing the tortillas and hot sauce on their own but recognized they should have confirmed the order. I will be back for the barbacoa but the tamales were a little dry and not juicy.

They do know COVID is over right? Drive thru only still? Common man open the inside back up to increase your service speed and efficiency. They have three lines going outside with cars and have people running ( or walking I should say) food orders in and out. You know how much money this place is wasting and how long it takes to get your food? I wish there was a better option outside 1604 but unfortunately this is all we got. 😢

Ordered via UberEATS. Arrived super fast. Barbacoa has good not great flavor, not too greasy. Corn tortillas are just ok. The tamales are a big disappointment. The flavor is great but they are small and have almost no filling. Some bites have zero meat. The meat you can taste is good so wish they were better/more consistently made. Probably won't try again with so many options in the area.

Decided to give them another shot after room temp beans.

So i got the barbacoa special with beans added. When picking out the flour tortillas i was looking for the best package. But it seems like they were all stiff. When i came home once again the beans were room temp. In the microwave it went along with the meat. Gezz i live like 5 mins down the road. Heating up the tortillas i knew already i needed k9 teeth to get through this taco i was about to eat.

Needless to say it sucked. Tortillas are garbage. I could of went for heb ones and those ones are bad too.

Im sure people will still eat there cause they dont know any better. As for me im out.

Thanks The guy...

This last Sunday (July 14, 2024), my wife and I decided to try some barbacoa and tamales from Rio's. Big MISTAKE!!!! The barbacoa was okay, but the tamales were not. We bought 2 dozen tamales, and they seemed to have been left over from the previous day (or week). They were dry, cold and tasteless. They were very dark in color and looked like chocolate bars - and I'm being extremely kind! We took them back to exchange, but were told that they could not exchange them or give us a refund because "All Sales Are Final"! How ridiculous is that? They must really have want to drive...
