Decided to stop by and try the food and drinks, mostly because of the amount of people that are constantly lined up there at all times. I was not prepared for the extremely long wait to get my order. I was growing very anxious about standing in their outdoor patio, hearing the cars drive by and the constant shuffle of people standing around. The stand, which I remember from several years back, was originally a small building that had a few benches and a very small awning has expanded their foot print in the area. It is an easy assumption to declare that business must be good due to the improved spacing and cover that has been constructed since Tropic Express’ humble beginnings. Do not let the name fool you though, expressing my dissatisfaction with the amount of time that it took to have my number called up would normally lead to a very negative review. Maybe the name Tropic Express is meant to convey an expression of the tropical flavors that are offered within this establishment, the variety of those flavors is something that I was impressed with. Trying link the express portion of the name to mean quick food and/or service would be wrong. I was ready to declare that I would never return and the wait time is too much to bear but I stood there waiting for my number for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once I finally received my order I promptly left regretting the stop I had made, took my first drink from the strawberry fresca and immediately drifted into a euphoria over the flavor. I had also ordered a burrito from them so I unwrapped it and bit into one of the best tasting burritos I have had in a long time, the size was a bit small but the price was reasonable. After finishing my drink and eating my food, I realized the reason there is always a large crowd at Tropic Express. I was blown away by the quality of food and declared that I will be returning again, when it they appear to be slow because that...

From the moment you step into Tropic Express, you’re not just a customer; you’re family. This gem of a family-owned Mexican sweet’s restaurant has become a daily pilgrimage for my girlfriend and me, and it’s not hard to see why.
Our go-to order, the Large Fresa Con Crema, is a masterpiece of freshness and flavor, perfectly balancing the creaminess with the natural sweetness of strawberries. Accompanying this delight, we never miss out on the 10 chocolate-covered strawberries, each a decadent treat that melts irresistibly in your mouth. And to add a splash of color and joy, the small rainbow snow cone always hits the spot, delivering a refreshing end to a sweet feast.

Read moreUsed to come here as a child with my parents when different ownership was involved. But after today's experience of waiting over half an hour for a s-i-n-g-l-e raspa that was a gloppy, syrupy, chunky mess and being yelled at by a lady in red " RELAX IT'S COMING" I was not served as a customer should be. Needless to say, the place has gone downhill, and I will not be spending any more time or money there. Tonight, was not even overly crowded, and after my ticket number was passed up four numbers ahead as well as waiting patiently for half an hour, I inquired about why my single item was taking so long, even other customers who ordered long after me were still receiving theirs before I was. Then the cashier was polite to me and even tried to offer a solution, while the impatient red shirt lady was just rude, yelling at us both and had poor customer service skills, very unprofessional from a business standpoint. On more than one occasion I was let down by overpriced and disappointing items, ridiculous wait times, and this was the last straw. This syrupy, gloppy mess I received was very gross looking and after tasting it, sure enough, it was just as bad as it appeared, I had to toss it in the garbage. Over $5 and half an hour wasted, do you think it's worth it? Such a...
