I've been passing by this restaurant for many years and always wondered about it but never stopped. After reading the reviews online I decided I needed to give it a try. Many people rave about the items and say it's some of the best Chinese food they've had in San Antonio. So one day while passing by I decided to stop and go in, I ordered the general chicken. When the food came out it looked really good, and the portion size was pretty decent. The food came out so hot there was no way to eat it. The general chicken had fresh peppers and onions in large pieces mixed in with sauce. The flavor of the general chicken was different than most places but was pretty good. The sign on the outside of the building was advertising lunch specials and plates for two. I definitely plan on giving this place a second try, and finding out what else on the menu stands out. I don't quite think it lived up to all of the hype of the reviews online, but the food definitely wasn't bad and the prices were very fair. I hope to find that item that stands out and brings me back again and again.

AVOID THIS PLACE, PERIOD. I am obsessed with Chinese-American food, and only ordered from here because everything else was closed. - Egg foo Yung was GROSS.. vegetables inside were slimy like they'd gone bad. - brown gravy was sweet and watery - Triple Delight my husband order was decent but tasted more like Mexican food. - Crab Ragoons were OVERPRICED AND EMPTY fried wonton with a touch cheese [pics attached are generous] - the red sauce was thick and had a strange after taste.

This place has two different names Orient express also know as suyens. Inside is welcoming clean and friendly staff and has some space to have family meals.prices are a little high for the portion they give you but they are enough to get you full no left overs .. if you don’t get full something wrong with you. The food idk if it’s made fresh but taste REALLY FRESHLY made and for it to be a Latino family restaurant making Chinese food! tastes good 5šŸ’«

I know I post alot of negative reviews but this honestly just broke it for me. I moved to san Antonio almost a year ago now and have tried and tried to find a good chinese place to help me feel like home and this place this has ruined it I will no longer hunt because of the 8 places iv tried that were all terrible this was the absolute bottom worst Chinese I have ever eaten and I dont have the will to try again. Let's start off with the looks from the outside in not a single thing about this place says Asian. The sigh hanging so proudly sun bleached has an entirely different name. Walking into this depressing place the most Asian thing is the single lantern hanging by the soda fridge. I must say the lady at the counter is wasted at this place she is so nice and friendly and was the best part about going here. Though another sign of the lack of asian is not a single employee is Asian that right there is another warning to turn around. Let's get to the food things really show with the food. You get it and are treated to a rather pleasant aroma that made me and my girlfriend smile and say "maybe this will be good fingers crossed." You get home take everything put of the bag for the big reveal and are greeted to an almost empty box of food that starts with little to no flavor and magically gets worse. I ordered orange chicken and what I though was onion or a crispy wonton turned out to be chunks of orange rind never have I ever seen that anywhere chunks of it uncooked just haphazardly tossed in with the 10 tiny pieces or what you hope would be chicken but turned out and I wish I was lieing was literally just flowered chunks of fat, gristle, or uncooked floppy skin. The one actual piece of chicken I had I spit out immediately and closed the box and walked away. In summary I wouldn't feed any of this tonal starving dog I dont even want to throw it in the trash because it might sicken a poor raccoon or something. I am being harsh because this just honestly hurts me that much. I cant recommend anyone go here not worth any of the money you will pay. Please just go somewhere else unless this is what san Antonio's chinese food scene is like then there are better terrible...

I enjoyed my food today. I thought it was a bargain. It’s hard to find a full Chinese food meal (with soup added) for $7.05 out the door. That’s kinda unheard of these days. The closest I can get is a little under $10 in the surrounding area. And to make things better, they had a sign outside the door for a special on Tuesdays where they give two meals for the price of about $11.50. This does not include soup but I think that’s pretty dang good.

The serving was small but it matches the price. I think it’s also a good thing because it was a good size to satisfy my hunger.

The lack of the fifth star in my review comes from the hot and sour soup. It was just OK. I still ate it but it tasted a little bit bland. That almost doesn’t make sense with Chinese food that’s always filled with too much sodium.

Will I go back? Definitely. I thought the food was good, the wait time was around five minutes, and the price matches what they give...
