Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is a hit or miss on service. Sometimes we get good service. Sometimes we get average service. And then there are times we just get bad service. Today was far from good service. Our server rarely visited us during the meal, cause I was in need of a water refill after the first few bites of my poutine. We had to flag someone else down to get us water and get our server to assist with finalizing our meal. I ordered the poutine as a meal and the fish and chips (more like fish and fruit, to make it a bit more healthier?! š). The poor fries in the poutine looked and tasted far from fresh. It tasted, just OK. Nothing too fancy, but is poutine really fancy at all? But my expectation would have been fresh fried fries topped with the poutine fixings. I guess my expectation was fresh, crunchy fries like they are when they're ordered as a side with the meal. Totally not the situation. I think the other thing that bothered me was that they were basically room temp. Either they were sitting too long before the server brought them out or they were a go back and we ended up with. I'm hoping it was the first, not the second. Lol.
I'm giving this place a 3 star because that's what it would average out with the excellent, average, and poor service we've gotten here. I wish there was more consistency, or even that we could get the same good servers every time we're here.
Now to speak of the menu. I feel that it's been some time since they've changed the menu. Maybe because we're here like every week, I'm already getting tired of the menu. I mean, today we went out of our norm, picking from the sandwiches. They do have great sandwiches, but they have changed so much in size. For example the Cali Club was 3 slices of bread before and a heavy serving of turkey. Now it's a typical 2 slice sandwich with about half the turkey that used to be in there. This is just one of many examples of portion control, yet the prices go up.
The other unfortunate this place suffers from is the off and on of staffing issues. Like we're told that we can't do a to-go order because the dining room is at capacity and there's not enough staff to cook or serve. Another time they were booked with reservations, yet you can clearly see that the dining room is not full. There was a variety of open tables, but again not enough staff to operate them. We were lucky to see a couple seats available at the bar and get served there.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited the Serrano Vista Cafe at Yaamava' and was left quite disappointed with my experience. Despite the cafe's potential and its location within the resort, the service and food quality severely lacked.
Upon arrival, I noticed about five staff members idling at the front, seemingly preparing to seat customers who weren't there. Meanwhile, I stood waiting for assistance with a to-go order, but regrettably, none of the staff members acknowledged my presence or offered help. This lack of attention to guests is unacceptable and contrasts sharply with the service standards I've encountered in other areas of the resort.
The food quality did not redeem the poor service either. Describing the dishes as "very mediocre" might even be generous. I've had more enjoyable meals at a Denny's, which says a lot about the lackluster offerings here. The cafe has also revamped its to-go setup, but not for the better. A staff member should be designated to manage to-go orders at all times, rather than socializing in the back. This change not only hinders efficiency but also diminishes the guest experience.
Overall, my visit to Serrano Vista Cafe was far from satisfactory. The cafe's staff seemed indifferent to guests, and the food was underwhelming. It's disheartening to see such a venue not living up to the service standards that are presumably upheld across the rest of the resort.
