This place just opened so we decided to go check it out for lunch a couple of weeks ago. There were only two other tables with customers inside when we went but I think it's because it's still a soft opening. The waitress was really nice. I believe her name was Jay if I remember correctly. The owners are from Japan and the wife came over to greet us at our table too. We both ordered the baked salmon bento box for lunch. It was just the right amount of food. I thought that salmon was a little plain. Everything else was good though. I'll have to come back to try something else on the menu. Hearing a lot of good reviews on this place!

Come support brand new restaurant in Scripps Ranch: Sai Japanese Bistro 9978 Scripps Ranch Blvd, San Diego, CA 92131 It used to be Ichizen in Poway which sadly closed, same nice Japanese lady owner. Food is good especially lunch bentos, fairly basic, affordably priced around $10-20, a rarity. A chicken katsu or karage comes with miso soup, salad, two gyoza, vegetable tempura, two California rolls, and rice is $14. Menu is very similar to Ichizen before. Place is rather empty because it's so new. Common foodies!!

We had a great lunch at Sai Japanese Bistro today. Loved how quiet and calm the restaurant was. The deluxe sushi bowl and my husbands ramen were both fresh and high quality. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. Wish we lived in San Diego so we could come again (we’re visiting from out of state)!

A wonderful, quaint Japanese dining experience in Scripps Ranch. Formerly known as Ichizen in Poway, this gem is under the same exceptional ownership, now in a new location. The team continues to pour their passion and pride into both the quality of their food and the level of service. The menu offers authentic, flavorful Japanese dishes, and the prices are reasonable for the high quality you receive. It's also nice to see repeat customers from the Poway location already making their way to the new spot, a testament to the lasting appeal of this restaurant. Whether you're a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, this spot is sure to impress with its warm atmosphere and...

I really love this restaurant so it’s disappointing to be giving such a low review. I was glad to finally find a good Japanese restaurant here. The food is really good and the prices are very reasonable. I’ve come here several times already and when my mom was in town, she even bought a tray of sushi from them for a party. I wanted to get takeout one night, but when I called I was told they were “too busy” and weren’t accepting takeout orders anymore. I understand that things get busy, but it was disappointing and even surprising as a loyal customer. I would like to keep getting food here, but may have to...
