Taco Fiesta II — Restaurant in San Diego

Its the only taco shop, by Ralphs, relegated to locals who prefer to pay more for substandard groceries, food, service, gas in the plaza. My Dad likes their stale fries in the Cali burro, I rarely order here due to their nasty, dirty door, torn seating, high prices and frisbee-like taco shells. Surprised they didnt go out of business in 2022-21, yet as a gig hustler I deliver only the best food in this area 92139; Taco Fiesta takes whatever plaza shoppers spill over. For 15 years, I've noticed to changes in personnel, food quality and pricing... There attitude is literally, "if you don't want to pay 10. for a carne asada burrito and NOT get charged 1.50 for onions, go elsewhere" per the cook. So I went to the taco shop by the Auto Zone a mile up Woodman. 😁 I got filet mignon in my fridge anyhow, not bothering doing charity visits...

Little biased on this one since it has been my main taco shop growing up. Hidden in Paradise Hills, this is little staple has stood the test of time. The decor from when I was in middle still holds strong nearly 15 years later. Even the Shakira cut out behind the register remains unmoved, her powerful eyes looking over the store. Outside of its nostalgia, is a basic taco shop with all the traditional fares. To be honest, their fries are soggy, tortilla too stale, and sauces are bland. However, decently seasoned meat, solid portions, and $7.95 carne asada fries make it my taco shop. It may not be special for anyone else trying it out, but if I'm in the area and am craving it, Ill swing...

The food is ok. BUT... the problem I had was, my order came to $10.33. I had $32 (and some loose change in my pocket.) I figured I'd pay $10.33, and leave a $2 tip in the bucket. BUT... I only had 32 cents in change. I told the cashier that I'd go get the penny out of my car (so I wouldn't have to break the 20.) When I got to my car, I thought "WAIT A MINUTE... she made me go get a PENNY??? Especially since I've left change there in the past! I went back in, and paid with the $20.
