My parents and I went to Tia Gladys yesterday Sunday 8/30/20 to go have brunch/lunch. We were told we could pick any open table to sit at. The one we chose was clear so we sat down. After putting in our drink order with the waitress (Dulce) we noticed both the table on my side was rather sticky and one of the menus had partially dried up salsa on 2 of the pages. We let the waitress know of both after giving her our food orders. She said if we'd like to relocate to the next table over we could, so we did. Right before relocating tables, she took our orders. When my mother let her know she'd like to order the Filet ala Plancha, my mother specifically asked Dulce if it was asada, the waitress confirmed. The reason my mother asked her was because she is allergic to fish and wanted to make sure she was getting meat and not fish. I also let the waitress know when she asked what type of tortillas I wanted with my meal, that I would like flour not corn. We waited for our food and enjoyed the fresh air. About 15 minutes later another employee which I think was an expediter/runner, brought our food. Everything looked good..... until they handed my mothers dish to her. Fish. Not meat as explained thoroughly to the waitress. My mother let the runner know the plate was incorrect and that she would like the asada as originally requested. The runner left and Dulce came back to let my mother know that she told her it was fish (absolutely not true) and that asada would take much too long to cook and if she wanted something else instead. Keep in mind she did not bother to apologize for the mistake and did not give my mother an option to get her asada no matter what or even to go or at a discount for the mishap. My mother ended up ordering machaca instead because it can usually be prepared quickly. I also had to let Dulce know that she brought me the wrong tortillas, so I gave back the container of corn tortillas. Once they brought my mothers food and my tortillas, we finished up and packed up our leftovers to take home. The waitress needs training badly. She was not friendly, she was not polite. We have been coming to this restaurant for YEARS and this was such a terrible experience that we are reconsidering ever returning. Please retrain your staff. The lack of sanitation of tables, menus, the mistakes with orders, and no consideration towards the customer is unacceptable. The food was good but the experience was not at all what we were hoping for or what we've had in the past at this...
Read moreI was so excited to try this place the atmosphere looked great, the food on the menu looked good. As soon as we walked in we were told to wait so a table can be cleaned i said ok. Then other people walked in and were seated. Then we were seated and the lady walked back and forth she seemed a busy i kept being patient. The lady walked by us at least six times didn't ask us anything. Then i see the people that walked in after us get chips and salsa and order being taken i said ok i guess im not being served today. The sad part is this is a mexican restaurant and I'm Mexican. My wife is Korean and she couldn't understand what was going on. We dine-out a lot and we always give honest reviews when deserved.
