El Patio Mexican Birrieria — Restaurant in San Jose

Craving birria tacos. Heard this place was great. Pictures of the handmade tortillas convinced me. I was the only customer here and they took 10 minutes. Ordered two tacos and a consome. I was disappointed when I got my tacos. They came in store bought tortillas tiny yellow ones, and it was a pinch of meat still in one chunk not cut. They gave me green salsa and usually with birria you expect red.

The food is incredibly fresh. You can tell from the tortillas to the chopped peppers everything is made that day for you to enjoy. Ended up getting the carne asada plate and ate every bit. I spent a few minutes afterwards talking to Carlos about his food and it's pretty obvious that he and his wife care about making good delicious food.

The food is good,especially the menudo with home made tortillas, I am a regular customer there,but always be carful when paying, the lady taking your order has trouble adding, she will also short you when giving you back your change. This is the reason I am giving this place an overall 2...
