Excellent food, often made in the traditional styles of Northern Mexico.
Dishes I've tried: carnitas, rice and beans, steak rancheros, pollo adobada, Chile Colorado.
Carnitas is a bit oily for my tastes, but, if you like your carnitas as deep fried chunks, the seasoning is good. This is literally the only dish I've had that wasn't excellent.
Refried pinto beans are delicious! And while the 'Spanish' rice is fairly mild, I would recommend it. Dishes come with two sauces, both spicy, one red and one green.
All other dishes I've tried have been delicious, with a good blend of seasoning without being overwhelming. They also list which types of chilies they use in most dishes, allowing people to avoid their jalapeno or habanero dishes as desired.
I wouldn't recommend this location for dining in unless you like sports, as they have a sports bar connected to their sit-down restaurant without a divider. The environment is always loud with whatever game is playing.
I don't drink alcohol, but, because of the sports bar, they do have a wide variety of beers on tap along with some harder spirits. Bar seating itself is closed, as they use that as a staging area for takeout.
Overall I would absolutely recommend them. They are excellent food, decent portions, and are at cost with their...
Read moreI thought about leaving a bad review for this place because I did not find the place Covid safe and given the whole year we lost because of the pandemic I didn’t want to take any risks just for take out.
The reason I still gave 4 stars is because the food was amazing. I was kind of upset while picking up the food but once I stated eating... all my frustration just melted away. The food was extremely flavorful and immediately I went to heaven.
That said I will still detail my interaction and why I considered it unsafe. Right by the door, were people eating with mask off... normally that doesn’t bother me but it was sooo close to the door I was not able to pass them without getting closer than 6ft. Second, there’s already indoor dining... which I know is okay but for someone who prefers the safer route and get take out.. it was extremely off putting and not streamlined.
The music was very very loud inside so I couldn’t even hear the owners without getting right up next to them. And I had to yell loudly for them to hear me.. which we all know.. yelling spreads more virus particles. I know we are nearing the end but right now is not the time to loosen up. I want to support my local restaurants but I am not willing to risk my health. I hope they take my...
Read moreIf I could give a 0 star review I would!!!! Came here with my husband and my aunt for the first time and no one cared, the cashier and an older man standing there just starred at us as if we came from another planet!!! Obviously if it’s your first time going here you are NOT welcomed!!! We seated our selves and finally after 13 min a lady came with some chips didn’t even say a word as she placed them on the table, she then left another lady came 5 minutes later asked if we were ready to order our drinks, which were then finally ordered! Another 5 minutes went by and finally our drinks came and our orders were finally taken, we ordered 2 wet burritos and a plate of the camarones rancheros! We finished the chips and almost finished our drinks, we were even getting ready to get out of there because 40 minutes had gone by and we never got our food, then finally the same lady came with our food!!!! (and during those 40 minutes that we waited for our food the same cashier and the older man were standing there the entire time starring at us as if had done something wrong)!!!!!! If you’ve never been here save yourself the trip of coming here and having to go through all of this!!!!! This has been by far the worst experience ever at a...
