My numerous visits to Thai Soul Kitchen in San Jose have become a cherished ritual, thanks to the gastronomic delights that remind me why I fell in love with authentic Thai cuisine. Each experience is a journey to Bangkok's bustling streets, captured within this culinary haven's walls. The Pad Kee Mao, affectionately known as 'Drunken Noodles,' remains a highlight. The dish is a complex symphony of flavors, expertly executed to offer a spicy kick that is bold without overwhelming the palate. The broad, flat noodles dance amidst a medley of fresh Thai basil, vibrant bell peppers, and succulent chicken pieces, all wok-tossed in a rich, savory sauce that clings to every noodle. The heat from the chili is perfectly tempered by the aromatic herbs and the subtle sweetness in the sauce, making it addictive in its complexity. Then there's the Northern-Style Thai Sausage, a dish encapsulating Thai Soul Kitchen’s commitment to traditional recipes. Each sausage is a revelation, filled with minced pork that's seasoned with a curated blend of lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and a gentle heat from red curries. Grilled to perfection, the sausages boast a crispy exterior that gives way to a moist and flavorful interior. The accompanying fresh slices of cucumber and peanuts add texture and are a palate cleanser, enhancing the sausage's rich flavors with each bite. Thai Soul Kitchen is more than a restaurant; it's a testament to Thailand's rich culinary landscape, offering an escape to its soulful food streets with every...

Review for Thai Soul Kitchen

Walking into Thai Soul Kitchen isn't just about the food; it's an experience reminiscent of visiting a beloved family member's home. The moment we entered, it felt like we were being welcomed into our auntie's house, where she had just prepared one of our favorite dishes. That sense of warmth and hospitality defined our visit.

The food was incredible, with each dish infused with flavors that showcased remarkable attention to detail. As someone who loves Thai food and has sampled dishes from both the East and West Coasts, I can confidently say this is among the best Thai restaurants we've visited, if not the very best. Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact names of the dishes we ordered, but every bite was a delightful explosion of flavors, textures, and freshness.

The experience was further enhanced by Joy and Greg, the owners of Thai Soul Kitchen. Their stories brought the ambiance to life, making us feel connected to both the local community and distant Thailand. Joy's tales about her family and the vibrant mural that depicted her life back home added a personal touch that made it feel like we were sharing a family meal.

If you find yourself in the area and craving authentic Thai cuisine, I highly recommend stopping by Thai Soul Kitchen. You'll leave with a smile, a full heart, and perhaps some leftovers from the generous portions. Don't...

The Best Thai Food in the South Bay!

If you’re looking for authentic Thai cuisine, look no further than Thai Soul Kitchen in San Jose. As a native Thai, I can confidently say this is the best Thai restaurant in the South Bay—every dish reminds me of home.

Some of my absolute favorites are:

✅ Crispy Pork Belly – perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. ✅ Crab Fried Rice – generously loaded with sweet, fresh crab meat, perfectly seasoned, and infused with that irresistible wok hei aroma that takes it to the next level. ✅ Tom Sapp Pork Ribs with Herbs – a flavorful and aromatic delight. ✅ Roti with Coconut Ice Cream – the perfect sweet ending to the meal!

The restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere, so I highly recommend making a reservation to ensure you get a spot.

I always sit at the bar, where I not only receive fantastic service but also enjoy great conversations with the owners, Joy and Greg. Their passion for Thai cuisine truly shines through in every dish, ensuring that each bite is authentic, thoughtfully crafted, and made with love.

I love this place so much that I try my best to visit 2-3 times a week! If you're a fan of real Thai food, you must check it out. Highly recommend! Hope to see...

We didn't want to go in the first time because of the small space and limited seating. After checking out the menu, we decided to give it a try. It doesn’t disappoint. We like the decorations on the wall and the table setup. The staff are warm and friendly. Roti Prata tastes good, but the texture is a bit sticky for my husband. Lychee Curry is light and flavorful. Lychee matches the red curry better than pineapples that most Thai restaurants use. I ordered Him Ma Phan with tofu and veggies. It's savory and tangy with a bit of souring sweetness, probably because of tamarind and chili paste oil. After the meal, we got tamarind candies, something we haven’t had before. There are so many dishes to try. We will come again. There is a separate menu for vegetarians
