I came here on Thursday morning with my boyfriend before my flight left from San Juan. He had seen all the good reviews and we decided to give it a shot!
When we walked in, we noticed a woman sitting at a table on a laptop. She got up after we sat down and greeted us + took our order. She made my oat milk latte which was pretty good, and my bf got the coconut matcha (it was okay). She them came back for our food order after a few min. As a side note, I’m vegan and ordered the veggie empanadas to start as I wasn’t too hungry. I was deciding whether or not to order lunch so I asked how big the empanadas were, to which she replies, “well- they’re an appetizer”. Okay?? Doesn’t answer my question but whatever.
On the menu it just says vegetables inside of empanadas, so I assume there’s nothing else inside. When I received them, they were warm and fresh however there was cheese inside (disappointing as I don’t eat cheese, so my boyfriend ate them instead). I ended up ordering the avocado toast without eggs and cheese & asked for roasted veggies instead. She told me that they didn’t have any (even though I saw it on the menu), and mentioned that there was spinach, tomato, onions & mushrooms that came with it already so I said that works fine with me.
She then went behind the counter and quickly prepared our meal, as she had 2 people who came in waiting to meet with her it seemed.
When I got my toast, the bread was toasted well and that’s about it. There was barely any avocado, absolutely NOTHING was seasoned (I’m talking about no salt, no pepper, NADA) and the mushrooms + onions were completely RAW? 💀 you’re not even supposed to eat raw mushrooms so I was just shocked. She also rushed through our food so she could sit down with a group of people (classmates?) and talk with them at the table right next to us. She was also the only person working. I didn’t feel comfortable walking up and interrupting whatever they were doing.
At this point we have no time to order anything else as we need to get to the airport soon, but she didn’t check up to ask if we liked our food until I asked for a box to go. I figured I could put seasonings of my own on it back at our airbnb and make it somewhat salvageable given that I hate wasting food. For a coconut matcha, a vanilla latte, 2 empanadas, 2 waters, an avocado toast, & an egg wrap, the total came to $80. Insane considering my boyfriend’s food wasn’t even seasoned either and it was by far the worst meal of our trip.
I’m not sure if these 5 star reviews are just paid reviews, friends, or just written in an alternate universe where the food is actually good- but there is no way I would ever come back to a place that charges an outrageous amount for the most basic food. The only decent thing about this place is their coffee. If you’re vegan, don’t bother trying to order or modify anything from this menu. You’ll be severely disappointed.

Read moreWe arrived in San Juan famished after an early flight over from St Thomas. My wife googled good breakfast near me and this place came up. From the outside it didn't look like much but the reviews said GO! Oh my, we were not disappointed. The chef introduced himself, learned each one of our names and sat down to explain what was available. The French toast was outta this world. I can't even remember what the others had but we were stuffed and very happy when we left. We met the owner and the waiter as well and friendliness was everywhere. Go here, you will not leave hungry and you will...
Read moreOwner/hostess was very rude. Asked us why we didn't read the menu, when I asked for fruit on the side of my breakfast. However, the menu was in Spanish and when you clicked on the English translation of the menu it was still in Spanish. She was also rude about us not reading the English menu and rolled her eyes when we told her, it wasn't in English and accused us of "not translating it".
Also it was overpriced $20 for passion fruit juice and eggs w/a bit of meat and onion. The passion fruit juice was really...
