Okay, I’m about to eat some crow. I wrote a review that was not very complimentary. I have since, after vowing that I would not be back here, tried a few other places. Although I stick by the fact that they’re not consistent in their service on to go orders, often forgetting to include sauces, etc. I have come to realize that the food here is good, healthy food that is well prepared and have not found anything comparable. I believe, Couldn’t swear by it but, truly believe that the food is as it is represented. After going to a couple of other places, kinda well known places that seemingly have good reviews. I prefer Pita’s med. grill. Here’s why. The upright cooking or roasting spits, (I don’t know what there actually called) have on them real layers of chicken and lamb that are being roasted. At other places you, a lot of the time don’t see these roasters, (again don’t know what there actually called) Sitting out for the public to see and here’s why. Other places use this frozen block of what appears to be a meatloaf type processed food that consistent of from what i’ve been told is beef and lamb? Really? What if I just want lamb? Anyways, at Pita’s you can actually order lamb and get just that. It’s sliced right off the spit and you can tell it’s not a meatloaf type of whatever. It’s actually lamb, chicken, or beef not a processed loaf of god only knows what. With the loaf stuff from other places my dogs even smelled at it several times before they ate it. They didn’t look that confident about eating it so I really at that point was Hesitant to eat it. Okay, I ate a few bites to try it and thought, what exactly am I eating? Yes, the portions were very large but, I could not force myself to eat it. So, as I said, I’m eating some crow here but, I never said the food at Pita’s wasn’t good, I would so love it if the customer service was better and more consistent. If I want good, healthy, fast food, I will go to Pita’s and just make sure I check my order well before leaving for home. Their food is really great. I’m sorry to the two young men that own the place for not appreciating the great food. Please work on the consistency of the service. I am once...
Read moreI needed a quick lunch and went here based on the reviews. As a Mediterranean restaurant, I assumed they'd have gyros on the menu but couldn't find any after staring for a while. I was told "the lamb shawarma sandwich is a gyro" and ordered that. It was NOT a gyro. It was pieces of lamb cooked like carne asada, but overcooked and tough. It was served on a pita with some red onion and tomato... and a LOT of dill pickles(??) It came with a small side of yogurt sauce, which was the most Mediterranean thing about it. The pita sandwich came with fried pita "chips", which were cold, greasy and overcooked. Fries or a little salad would have been much better. It was ~$14 after tax.
To be fair, I only had the one item so can't speak for the entire menu, but nothing felt very "Mediterranean" about this place and the sandwich wasn't good. The staff was...
Read moreTHE OWNER TAKES THE TIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only the cash tip is given to the employees. The food-It was ok. They don't cook lamb like the normal slow cooked way. It honestly tasted like steak. I ordered 2 lamb plates and they weren't busy so I think it would be hard to mess it up but I suppose it's possible. I saw another comment saying they got lamb in a cut up carne asada style... that's what I got for lamb too. So idk. This was my first time here. Maybe I'll try it again, but I'm not really sure. I feel like it's horribly shady of the owner to take more off the top when the plate was $17.59, which was already a lot. It didn't taste like it was worth almost $18 for what you get. It's sad bc I love Mediterranean food and I want more options, but I don't...
