Nick The Greek — Restaurant in San Mateo

This is the 2bd time I've eaten at Nick The Greek. The first time was a good experience, so I told my husband we should go together for lunch, which we did today. My husband ordered the pork gyro, which turned out to be a big mistake. Most of the pork chunks (they are big chunks, hard to eat), were tough, chewy and gristly. I was really surprised. I mentioned it to the nice woman who had taken our order and she just seemed perplexed. I did ask her to make sure to pass on the complaint; not sure if she will, so I also sent a message to the 'corporate' offices in San Jose. These restaurants are franchises, so I'm not sure what will come of it. So I suggest you pass on the pork gyro and find something else that they do better. ive been getting from this place often for over a year now and im sad to say theyre having some quality issues lately, because they used to be real good. the spicy yogut is sour like it never was before several times i got it, the lokumades lately are soggy and not sweet enough wheras they used to be crispy crunchy and in honey, now its like theyre in midly sweet water. the rice i got has got so much lemon it in that its soggy and wet like no rice should be, and too sour. this last order they gave me two fries allntogether when i payed for extra fries. their portion sizes used to be v good, but lately im noticing theyre not anymore. i used to feel full after eating one of their pita rolls, while lately im still hungry after. not really sure whats happening lately, but i wish...

We came by your restaurant this evening, which it was on my birthday today. We gave you 4 stars. We had told you (Tall guy cashier) that we don't want onions. We thought you had used common sense no onions on any food like salad and platter. We had to remove all small piece of onions. Otherwise my daughter liked chicken kabob on the stick with pita bread, tomatoes, French fries and sauce. I liked pork kabob on the stick with yellow rice, pita bread, tomatos and sauce. They were very good. Also we ordered only one lemon A--- with chicken and noodles but not much chicken in our soup. The soup was very good. We ordered one more cup of soup to take home for our lunch tmw. We will come back...
