Craaaaaaaazy delicious! This location was a first for my family and me. We were in Burlingame for a conference and were interested in Italian for dinner. For new patrons, such as we, fair warning their system for ordering is non-traditional, I assume due to Covid. Nonetheless, ordering is completed on one's digital device, pretty cool. Their garlic rolls, absolutely delicious. The Cesar salad, probably the best I have ever consumed. The croutons, toasted yes, were also a bit stale, hindering my salad devouring very minimally. Other than that, I wished I ordered the larger portion. My wife and daughter ordered the chicken Alfredo. Customers be advised, we were informed that they no longer carry broccoli nor asparagus to add to your pastas. A little bit of a bummer, I always wish to include a healthy vegetable with our meals. The Alfredo sauce was light, yet flavorful. My wife was concerned the loose appearance of the sauce would not yield a full flavor, but she was pleasantly surprised. She greatly enjoyed and appreciated the homemade noodles and picked up on their texture right away. Ultimately, she finished her portion of food, it was that delicious. I ordered the chicken parmesan, it IS the best I have consumed to date. The sauce was light, but very flavorful. The cheese was precise, the dish did not need any more nor any less. What had me sold, however, was that the chicken was still crispy at the time I began eating it. This coming after I consumed my salad, the portion of spaghetti, and the sautéed spinach! This gives validity to my comment about the red sauce being light, as well as providing a duration of time after my plate's arrival to my table. I am not certain if this business is a chain restaurant as we are not from the area, but if given another opportunity to visit the south Bay, my family and I will be definitely making a stop...
Read moreCame here because Google said it was known for Sangria but I found the sangria to be bitter and hard to finish.
This place has minimal selection with hit or miss food. I've been twice, but haven't yet had any pizza, which is what is the best thing I've heard??
I did have a calzone which was soggy in the middle and garlic rolls, which were yummy but too rich and heavy and my stomach mad afterwards.
Also had a salad on a different visit which was fresh and tasty with no complaints. Also had cauliflower and broccoli appetizer which also was a bit soggy? Definitely not what I expected. I wouldn't get it again.
The wait staff is always nice and attentive so that's a plus and the restaurant is clean and cheery and seems to always have seating.
I wouldn't go again as a personal choice, but if someone else in my group wanted to go, I wouldn't vote it down either. There are just so many choices in downtown San Mateo, why here?
I guess one good thing is that it does appear that they can accommodate larger groups which is not as common Parking is all on the street though,...
Read moreI’m giving 5 stars for the catering order I picked up yesterday because of the excellent service. I had called a few days earlier to place the order and was told that the Baked Penne Bolognese came with salad and garlic rolls. When I called on Sunday to make sure that my catering order would be ready, I was told that I had placed an order for a family pack, not a catering order. I was told that the catering size of Penne Bolognese did not come with Salad or rolls. I understood and confirmed my order anyway. When I went to pick up the order a very nice young lady, who I believe was possibly the store manager, had my order ready to go and told me that they included a salad since I was given false information over the phone a few days previous when I had placed the order. I thought that was very good customer service. The pasta dish though sadly fell short. Not nearly enough sauce, sausage, or cheese. Very dry. Mostly noodles, and not worth $89. I also don’t think it would serve 10 to 12 people, more like 8. The mixed green salad, however, was generous and...
